Tried to do injection by myself last night ..
I couldnt do it. I chickened out at the very last minute. I had it right against my skin but couldnt do it. How did you girls get the courage to just stick yourself?
DH always does it for me and he was laughing when I tried it myself and ran over to him saying I cant. haha
ETA: This was just the Lupron shot. Its not even big!

Wait until PIO, delestrogen or the HCG trigger!
J/k I think I just started doing it myself. I can't even have my DH in the room watching me, I always ask him to leave!

Re: Tried to do injection by myself last night ..
what kind of needle do you use for this?
I got scared with the needle for Lovenox at first, because the casing is so huge compared to the insulin needle i use for Neupogen. But i find it more comfortable to hold on to and plunge.
anyway, i just took a few deep breaths and stuck it in. It hurts less than getting blood drawn.

Re: Tried to do injection by myself last night ..
I was saying last night, ahh these girls are so brave, how do they do it haha.
It never hurts and the needle is so small its just mind over matter and I have to just suck it up and do it. Although DH is always home for it so he said I dont have to do it on my own and was questioning why I even wanted to.. I wasnt sure why, I just wanted to try it.

Oh no
You have to bite down and go for it. The anticipation is the worst, imo. After the first time I gave myself the shot, it became kind of second nature. You'll get the hang of it.

Re: Tried to do injection by myself last night ..
the first one is the absolute hardest. i definitely recommend learning how to do it on your own because there might be one off night where your dh cant do it for you. you also might find you prefer to do your own shots (like me!) good luck!

Re: Tried to do injection by myself last night ..
I'm terrified of needles, I have to do them myself since DH leaves before I wake up and when I do the second he's in bed. I only had a problem once where it took over an hour to do it. I usually try to distract myself by watching tv and taking a deep breath before. It does get easier though.

Re: Tried to do injection by myself last night ..
In my case, I did all my injections aside from PIO. I liked having a sense of control, and I was afraid DH would pass out! The first one was the hardest, but once I did IVF, they became routine and easy.
