Poll - Which is more kid friendly?
I need to furnish my family room. Which is better for a house for kids - an ottoman or a coffee table? I would like a wood coffee table but I think kids would ruin it by banging their toys on it, etc. Is an ottoman a better option? Please let me know what you think is better and if your kids have ruined your coffee table!
Thanks

Re: Poll - Which is more kid friendly?
it's a tough call. our kids have banged up our coffee table in the den, but luckily it is the distressed look from pottery barn. i would imagine stains on a fabric ottoman (maybe not if it is leather) if you allow food/drinks in there.

I'd get one of those big leather ottomans... it can double as toy storage!

This is what I have. It has four drawers. We love it. Holds so many toys. If I have company after dd is asleep I throw a nice thick tablecloth over it and put a big tray on top to use for coffee, etc.. When dd is awake we cant do that, or use our end tables. Lol.

Ottoman hands down. My wood coffee table is shot because of DS.

I'd get a large leather ottoman, we love ours (and it has storage) but we also have a side table for drinks

i have big wood coffee table. 2 little ones. no issues.
We put corner/edge protectors on the tables to make them a little more safe for my klutz of a son.

We have neither. MUCH better than either. Makes the space look bigger too & coffee in a living room (or any drinks) isn't exactly kid friendly.

My kid EATS the protective strips we have on the TV stand! Still at 17 months.

Ottoman! We have a a storage ottoman tht is a lifesaver- it is basically the second toybox. I also don't have to worry about spills, etc, and it's soft for little heads that fall against it!
