Nursery schools in Northport area

We're looking into nursery school for DS who will be 3. We're trying to decide between The Village and Weekday. Anyone have any feedback on either of them? Thanks!

Hi, We live in the village, and DS just turned 3.

WHat are you looking for? A few hours a day? A few days a week? Full time?

DS went to Northport Nursery Co-op, by the high school. It is a co-op, so they require a lot of parental involvement. It is a wonderful school.

We have friends that use Weekday and Village and love them both.

My DS goes to Island Kids. He started there in the 2 year old program, 2 mornings a week. Then when I went back to work, he went into the 3 year old day care room. I love it.

They offer 2,3 and 5 days for 3 hours a day. You can also extend the day. They have pre-school and day care rooms for 2,3 and 4 year old.

My DS is very happy there and learns so much more than I would have expected. It doesn't feel like a "business" to me, but more like a family.

My suggestion would be to take your DS and have a tour of each school to see what would be the best fit.

Good Luck

I know people who go to weekday and really enjoy it(have been sending their kids there for 5+ years)! My niece goes to their enrichment program for Kindergartners now.
I have been to a few programs for the kids and they always seemed like the teachers were really nice everything seemed well run!
