who had twins in the family
Hi ladies!
I've always wanted twins. My husband and I are not ready to conceive, but I was wondering how many of you ladies had twins run in your family. Your side, hubbys, both?
There have been twins our family but not in any recent generations. I wonder if I have a chance to conceive with twins—I guess theres always a chance.

I had twins in my family. My mom's mom miscarried 2 sets of twins.
However I had identical twins and those are not genetic, so who knows LOL.
From what I remember, fraternal twins can only be passed down on the moms side.

My dad had twin sisters. And his grandmother had a twin sister. For us it seems to be every other generation has twins.
However, as already mentioned by Nancy, I have identical twins which are not considered genetic.
ETA - DH's family has never had twins until ours.

I am currently 25 weeks with a boy and a girl. My brother and sister are twins and my grandmother was a fraternal twin. It is definitely running in the family!

I had twins but we did IVF.

My paternal great grandmother was a twin, and DHs grandfather was a twin, but ours were concieved via IVF.

I have fraternal twins and my moms mom had 2 sets of fraternal twins. From what Im told I just followed the trend in our family and its been ever other generation on my moms side

No matter how great my DH is, unless I dropped two eggs, we weren't getting 2 babies. Fraternal is always mommas side. Identical is a fluke thing. (not hereditary
Although I had IVF so none applies to me

My sister had fraternal bg twins naturally and I have fraternal boy twins through IVF.

no twins in my family history or DH's not that his history matter for me - only if we had a daughter then it would matter for her
oh i most likely have fraternal twins that were natural

we have LOTS of twins on both sides of the family. DH is a twin too, although that is not suppossed to have anything to do with it.

On my mom's side, I have one set of twins, on my dad's side, we're getting our SEVENTH set of twins (6 sets are natural, one set is IVF)
DH's grandfather was a twin.
My dad is identical, so even though twins race through my family, I didnt think I'd have twins. I think my age had more to do with it (over 35 when conceived my fraternal twins)

my great grandmother( my mom's dad's mother) had twins but they past away at a few days old. I didn't know we had twins in the family so i never thought i would have. well at my sono i saw the two sacs and my mom goes oh yea we have twins on our side!!
