What type of music does your child like?

I am trying to create a playlist for DD for the car since she commutes with me. She is almost 2.

We already have:
Both Jewel albums- The Merry Goes Round
and Lullabye CD (both great)

Disney Album with some cute songs...

80's Lullabye Cd (amazing, but puts me to sleep)

Problem is I am bored and so is DD!

I just downloaded the Fresh Beat Band Album, but am looking for some more suggestions.

My DS likes Baby Genius, Raffi and some Laurie Berkner. He also really likes James brown, some classical pieces like the Nutcracker, the sound of music sound track, and Peter and the Wolf.

They like Biggie, JZ, Sinatra, Bon Jovi, Bruno Mars, 50 cent, John Legend, Jerry Rivera, Nas, KRS one, MJB....eclectic taste, like their momma! Oh, and anything that has to do with the word "mickey"

These are some of the favorite songs from their nine collections for the Family Classes.

Of course the best way to get the full benefit is to attend a Music Together class with your child. Then both of you will have a fun experience to associate with the songs. It's amazing how the children will sing in the car.

JQ is 1...not really a TV watcher but loves backyardigans songs.

Josh is 5. maybe 3 years ago we were listening to christmas music in car and TSO came on.
he loved it. so much. dh burned a few songs on a disc for him. listened nonstop.
now he has a few cds...he will go in his room, put one on and just sit there listening.

JQ isn't into TSO at all. me neither.

dd likes all the nick jr. songs...she will stop what shes doing and start to 'dance' when she hears them.

but right now her all time favorite is the LMFAO song with the wiggle wiggle wiggle part in it....anytime it comes on she dances and sings

They listen to krock 2 all day unless the TV is on, they like the songs sung by Moose A Moose

DD loved the Disney Block Party CD and Imagination Movers.

DD LOVES The Wiggles.. I kind of get a kick out of their "Top of the Tots" CD

Could it be that I sang them to her as a child and played the movies and keep them on in the car?

She likes Blackbird, Rocky Racoon, When I'm 64, Yellow Submarine

Outside Beatles she'll listen to just about anything or will make up her own music. She loves all the classic kid songs etc, loves holiday music (jingle bell rock is a favorite)

Generally I keep my radio on oldies. So she likes things like Sam the Sham "Li'l Red Riding Hood" and Turtles and Three Dog Night

DD loves fresh Beat band, holiday Christmas music, anything I play for myself as well.

DD loves the Wee Sing CDs and the Fisher Price Little People CDs, we also have a ton of Elmo (which I cannot stand after awhile). I want to get her into Laurie Berkner and Fresh Beat Band.

She also loves all Nick Jr. Music.

Lmfao, usher, Adele, etc.
Then they love all the Disney soundtracks . They are all on my iPod for the car..

Then I also went to my library and got a bunch of kids songs CDs and copied them onto my iPod...

Right now, DS is really into Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. He loves kids songs too, but usually requests one of those artists when we get into the car.

She likes what comes on 92.3, 100.3, 97.1, and 104.3, they happen to be my favs too lol

But her all time Fav is " Hot Diggity Dog"

DH played a lot of guitar to my belly when I was pregnant. I think it affected DD's music tastes.

She likes Jack Johnson, DMB, Guster, the Doors, the Beatles, indigo Girls, Red Hot Chili Peppers (but only specific songs), Beach Boys, and, sadly, The Bee Gees. She has her own playlist on the ipod, and cries for music during meals.
