Best Valentine's Day gift EVER *ETA I'm a semi-regular poster in hiding
After 13 months of TTCing and a visit to an RE, we for PG "On our own"
I took an HPT Sunday with FMU (AF was due 2/6) and had a faint line. Did another HPT last night and line was noticably darker!
Going tomorrow morning for a blood test to confirm.
I had an HSG done last month and it is believed I had a minor obstruction that was cleared out during the procedure.
We are SO excited, I want to shout it from the roof tops!!,
Three questions:
1- DC1 is almost 5, when is a safe time to tell him?
2- We want to tell family, but reluctant of telling too soon, we are very close with immediate family so I feel like they will know before I tell them. Also afraid it will slip to DS before we tell him. Any suggestions? Also wanted to them in a cool way
3- Can I get a facial? LOL I know a massage is a no-no in 1st tri, but wasn't sure about a facial.
Thanks! Oh, according to LMP I am only 5 weeks today.

Congrats! I am a FTM but i have four siblings that are between 9-13 years old. I told them after I got the results of the NT scan. We told our parents right away so while in theory I wanted to do something special I was too excited and just blurted it out!

Re: Best Valentine's Day gift EVER *ETA I'm a semi-regular poster in hiding
Congratulations
My DS had just turned 4 when I found out I was PG. I had two mc's preceding this PG so I was conservative about telling people. We didn't tell our parents until I was about 10wks. (I had an ultra sound with a perinatalogist about that time because I am considered high risk for a blood clot disorder.)
We brought DS to the 20 week sono and told him when we found out the gender. Some kids might have figured it out sooner; my DS was oblivious to it until we told him. We didn't really hide it that well infront of him and he still didn't seem to notice. (He'll almost be 5 when the baby comes.)
Yes you can have a facial. I've had 3 during this PG and it's worked wonders for my skin. Just make sure you let them know. There were certain treatments they didn't do.

Congratulations!
We told my DD when I was 8 weeks. We probably told her pretty early compaired to what a lot of people do. She is 6 though, and we are very close. She was wondering why Mommy wasn't doing certain things and was always feeling so sick. We waited until after I had my first sono. Once we saw the heartbeat, I bought her a Big Sister shirt and had her open it and read it. Then when she was confused as to why she was getting a big sister shirt (big sister to the dog?!? was her reaction! ) we showed her the sono and told her that we were having a baby.
We told most of the rest of the family at around 9-10 weeks because we went on a family cruise together!

Congratulations! DS is only 3, but we just told him last night after the Level II ultrasound. There were some concerns with my 12 week and 16 week blood work and I wanted to wait to make sure everything was ok first. I told my family right away because my grandfather ended up passing away a few days after finding out. I had planned on waiting a while to tell them, but I'm glad I shared the news.
