My nightmare
Since I began my treatment with your practice eight years ago, I have had a few problems with the medical staff here at (********). While the doctors here are some of the best in their area of specialty, the competence of some of your staff leaves much to be desired.
On Friday, February 4th of this year, I woke up in pain like I usually do. But there was no pill, because Stacy said “You're not due til tomorrow.” By the time I had picked up my medication after 1PM, I had been in very severe pain and was nauseous for many hours. The pain and nausea went away as soon as I took my medication.
I have long had problems renewing subscriptions. Things have improved, but there are still some problems.
I called Tuesday, 2/21, got no response and so I called back Thursday, 2/23. Stacy returned my call and said she would have it filled and would call me when its ready. She called back a few minutes later to tell me that there were no doctors or PAs on staff. I told Stacy that it should have been prepared before they all took Thursday off. Stacy said I was being offensive, she then began to bully me, talked over me whenever I tried to speak, and was extremely rude to me.
I had often heard that it is not advisable to discontinue these medications suddenly. She ridiculed me for my lack of knowledge on the subject. It this what passes for professional conduct? She told me that she knows all about my case, she said it disparagingly, as if I were some lowlife. (my word) She told me that she would be there when I picked up my prescription the next day (she wasn't) Given the way that she was speaking to me, I took this as a threat
Where I come from, it is customary to complain about poor service, how is that offensive?
As much as I depend on my doctor for his care, I depend on my doctor's staff to treat me respectfully and to do no harm.
At the very least, Stacy should be reprimanded for her unprofessional conduct and given some customer service training. If she were working for me, I would have fired her.
