weight watchers vs counting calories

is one better than the other and why?

I have been doing kickboxing for a month now and have only seen a 2lb loss. Now i have been watching what i eat, but not like i should be. And i feel really discouraged about the 2lbs. I feel like i should be seeing more of a difference. I have been doing the whole 1200 calorie thing and im soo hungry by the time the end of the day comes.

I just dont know what to do anymore. I feel like nothing is working. I lost soo much weight before my wedding and i feel like im doing more now then before and nothing is working.

Sorry for my little rant, but i guess i just needed to get that out.

So back to my question, whats the better choice? and what does weight watchers run?

Thanks!!!!

Re: weight watchers vs counting calories

I would go with Weight Watchers. WW takes more into consideration than just calories. They take account for protein, fat, fiber, and carbs into their formula. You are also given ideas about what to eat, how much to eat, etc. They give you "Good Health Guidelines" to follow to ensure you are getting proper nutrition, enough calories AND you aren't hungry. WW is a very flexible, liveable plan. You have have heard of points; there is MUCH MUCH more to WW than the points! It's a detailed and wonderful plan that you learn about as you sign up and attend meetings. WW has had many successful members because their plan works- the formula is based on scientific evidence.

Also, every week at the meeting there is a different topic that targets a different aspect of weight loss and healthy living.

I lost 60lbs on WW. I have seen others lose significant amounts of weight (up to 300lbs). There are different payment options- you can either do $13 weekly or the meetings or get a montly pass (42.95). You could also do online. I personally love the meetings.

Good luck!

ETA- I also wanted to comment on how you are doing more than ever and not losing anything. The beauty of WW is when you go to meetings there is a great support system. You have a leader that will go over everything you eat, your exercise plan, etc and help you make changes so you see the changes you want to see in your body and weight! Just counting calories or nutritional info in a food is great- but it doesn't give you the same support you get at a meeting!

Re: weight watchers vs counting calories

For me WW works.

Like you I was working out and not seeing great results.

Two weeks ago I joined (I joined a cple yrs back and had great results, just had a baby so trying to lose the weight) and I lost 5 lbs!

I was TRYING to watch what I ate but with WW it just works better for me.

It can't hurt to try, good luck Chat Icon
