Where should I ask to have my b-day dinner?
We will be in Queens the weekend before my 31st birthday and woudl like to ask DH to take me somewhere different for my b-day dinner.
What would be your outstanding, guarranteed best restaurants in Queens/ Nassau?
We will eat anything except Indian or Sushi. Thanks!

Cabana is a great place...BUT they do not take reservations and if you are looking to go on a fri or sat you will have at least an hour wait and it is super cramped in there (depending where you sit, you may have to get up in order for someone else to get to their seat).
but my favorite restaurant in astoria Trattoria L'incontro they have great italian food (i would suggest ordering one of their many specials instead of ordering form the menu) and they take reservations. When DH and I go there we ask for a 5-6 course tasting menu (not a prixe fixe - i believe they have this option occasionally but its not the same). the tasting menu there will basically allow you to try anything/everything. depending on our mood, we either have the chef pick all courses or if there are specials that sound good we will give two or three "must haves" and let the chef decide the rest (can tell them things like no veal, no lamb, definitely want lobster etc) so that it is tailored to what you like. THe last time we went it came to about $150 before tax and tip but well worth every penny imo

For Italian, I highly recommend Trattoria L'incontro in Astoria.

DH took me to Danny Brown Wine Bar and Kitchen in Forest Hills. It was delicious! It also has a Michelin star.

They are fabulous! Also 5 Burro Cafe in Forest Hills if you love Mexican food. It's not a fancy place, but really great food.
