Gifts from Godparents
Did any of your children receive a gift from their Godparent that you really liked and found special? I am going to be a Godmother in a few months and want to find a special gift for my Godson. My DD didn't get anything that I would choose to buy. TIA!

Traditionally the Godparents usually buy the cross. At least that's how it is in my family.

DD"s godparents got her a beautiful necklace she can wear when she is a little older because i requested no crosses be given. You can do a nice name bracelet.

For my DD's Christening my SIL and her Husband (DH's BIL) were the Godparents. They both bought the outfit and cross.

ds godmother paid for the outfit which ws nice, and did a savings bond.......
ds godfather got him a cross for the wall.

Normally the godfather buys a cross or bracelet and the godmother buys the outfit.

we are not religious and our sons godparents know that so they bought his baby blessing outfit which I was really touched by

Thanks everyone! My godson will be wearing an outfit that his mother wore so I can't buy that. I may get a cross but I'm still searching for ideas.

For us tradition is:
Godmother - buys the dress/outfit
Godfather - buys a cross
DD received a diamond cross from her godfather that is beyond beautiful.
Her godmother also got her hand made rosary beads.

For our Godson, we gave a cross and an engraved keepsake box which read, "God bless (his name)".

I purchased a baptism bowl from etsy.com it has a beautiful saying as well as my Godaughter's name on the back , it's a great keepsake and can be past down to her children plus I loved photographing it : ) You could also consider hiring a photographer to capture the day! Congrats on becoming a Godmother, it's such a blessing!
I bought my Godson's outfit, and I am going to be the Godmother to my niece who is due next month, and I will buy her outfit as well.
In our family, it's pretty much the Godmother buys the outfit and the Godfather buys the cross.
I always though a personalized bapstism white blanket with the name and date embroided on it would make a nice gift too!
