What do I feed this boy?
He eats the same exact things everyday. Oatmeal with mashed banana, PB on bread (has to be spread thin), and yogurt (only some flavors). He only drinks milk or Pediasure (we call it Shake). I water down the Pediasure b/c it's expensive and I like him to get water in his diet Maybe some crackers (only circle) and goldfish (regular... no colors or flavor bursts) I called and his daycare teacher said he didn't want the PB sandwich. It took months of me sending it in for him to finally eat it. Then that's all he ate and the last two days he's refused it. You think it's b/c his allergies are bad? I don't know what to do? He will not eat all day if I let him. I'm at a loss. He's so stubborn and won't try new foods. I have to force cake or icecream on his lips for him to realize it's not that bad, but it's usually a bite and he's done. He doesn't really eat anything for his Speech Therapist or OT. Once in a while his Speech teacher will change up the bread with melted cheese or something, but a tiny bite then refuses. Now, my 9 mon old eats EVERYTHING. How are they related? I'm in awe when I watch him eat cut up chicken, veggies, meatballs, etc. I ask Mason if he wants to share and he says NO. Shakes his head like I offered him liver and whines or cries. I LOVE the advise pple give... he will eat it. No, he won't He sits everyday at daycare with kids his own age and still has no desire to eat any regular food they eat (or at bday parties when other kids have pizza). He sits with us at dinner and won't eat. I try shapes, smiley faces, nothing works. Believe me! It took over 2 yrs to get him off baby food and I feel like the only way to get veggies in him is to give him babyfood, but I don't want to go back there again.
What else can I do? He's down to 2 oatmeals a day. THe only good news is his bloodwork came back great. Low cholesterol and high good cholesterol. His Ped was impressed so I told him I guess oatmeal does help

Re: What do I feed this boy?
DS is 5 and I thought for sure, he'd outgrow the pickiness. To this day, he's still "picky". His menu is this:
Breakast: Any type of Cheerios w/milk Rice Krispies "Marshmallow Cereal" (Lucky Charms) Pancakes Waffles
Lunch: Yogurt (YoKids) with a slice of cheese and a banana.
Dinner: Grilled Cheese Chicken Nuggets Fish Sticks (a.k.a, "New Chicken") French Fries (I don't offer many)
Snacks: Mandarin Oranges Sliced Peaches Applesauce Cheeze Its Pretzels Fruit Snacks
This has been his menu for as long as I can remember. The fish sticks are new. I know it's NOT healthy at all, but, he JUST recently started eating M&Ms or a small piece of chocolate.
He has tried Honey Glazed carrots too. He didn't LOVE them, but, he tried.
It's so frusturating. He's not starving, but, it's sad (like you said)..Go to a Bday party, all kids are eating pizza and I bring him his own snack (If I were ever questioned, I'd just say he had an allergy). Sometimes, I bring him a sandwich, just so he eats with the other kids.
ETA ( My DD will be 3 (has down syndrome)) and is my amazing eater! She even likes all the healthy stuff! LOL Its unreal.

Re: What do I feed this boy?
DD is super picky too. It has to be the correct color or texture or there is no way she's eating it. Now her diet consists of:
Breakfast Cornflakes, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks Waffle Pancake Bacon
Lunch A nutella sandwich (i use an organic brand from whole foods but it has to be chocolate flavored) Piece of Salami Piece of American Cheese
Dinner Chicken Nuggets Fish Sticks Pizza (sometimes) Grilled Cheese French Fries
Snacks
Goldfish Pretzels Potato Chips (only Lays - I have no idea how she knows the difference) Chocolate Chip Cookies Cheeze Its Yogurt applesauce Any type of roll or bread Veggie Chips
So not healthy but at least she's not starving. I will say though that the past month or so she has been asking to taste things. She tried an eggroll, some eggplant, a bit of steak all last week So at least she is trying.
Last year in pre-k, they did this thing called fun food fridays. They had a bunch of foods and they had to smell them, lick them, taste them and eat them (the eat was optional but the rest they had to do). I think this really helped her to look at new foods and we still do it at home now. Thats how she started eating salami, bacon and yogurt. I just hope by the time she's in high school she can order something besides chicken and french fries when we go out to eat lol.

Re: What do I feed this boy?
I feel your pain! My DS 2yrs old has texture problems and eats the same thing every day!
Breakfast: 1 Toaster Scrambler (it has egg, cheese and bacon)
Lunch: Grill Cheese (most time he eats half)
Snack: yogurt and a cookie..or 2
Dinner: I have to puree either homemade chicken or Beef soup and mix it with apple sauce.
Dinner is always a fight but in the soup it has veggies and a protein. Its hard to go out because he eats NOTHING out but fries
Hang in there!

In the same boat.. DS is 2.5 and has severe texture issues..
Breakfast: Either 4-8 oz of pureed fruit (beech nut fruit pouches) or 2 gogurts
Snack: Goldfish crackers, mini ritz, or banana bites
Lunch: Rare--- Either fruit or Gogurt
Snack: Crackers or cookies for a treat
Dinner: Whatever he didn't eat for breakfast. Either fruit or gogurt.
He will eat french fries once in a while if we are out. Friendly's or diner.
He use to eat pancakes and waffles but that came to a screeching halt in Feb.. It is so hard. I offer him everything we eat hoping one day something will just click in him.. We rarely go out too. I leave stuff in his reach so he can help himself. He will go to the fridge and get fruit or yogurt if he is hungry enough..
Going out is IMPOSSIBLE.... Hope things turn around for all of us..

Re: What do I feed this boy?
A friend of mines son went through the same thing. He is 5 now still a little rough but at least there is a wider range of food he eats now. It can only get better!!

Re: What do I feed this boy?
I have a SUPER picky 5 yr old...he does alot of bagels with butter, whole wheat bread with butter, waffles, pancakes, french toast, mac and cheese and recently he will eat couscous and fish sticks. Its a nightmare because he won't eat ANY fruits or veggies. Like, not one. I give him Mega Vita juice some mornings, and the only way he will eat any meat is to tell him its chicken and let him dip it in applesauce. Maybe letting your DS dip something on the side would help? Ketchup or ranch dressing or applesauce or hummus??
My only saving grace is that my now 16 yr old nephew used to be the exact same way - but about a year ago he just started eating and liking everything. There is hope - it might just take 10 years!
