Dog friendly outdoor restaurants ?
BringFido.com has lists of outdoor restaurants where you could bring your dog. Has anyone ever done this ??? I've never seen a dog in a restaurant except for at the Boat Basin in the city.

I'm not far from Freeport & they have 3 restaurants listed that I've been to a few times. Never saw a dog ! I think I'd call first to make sure but I definitely want to try it.
The Boat Basin in the city had like 10 dogs there when I went last Spring. If it wasn't so far I'd go all the time !

 I can't imagine Sam or Lilah behaving well enough to go to a restaurant...
my kids don't have restaurant manners... just dog park ones!

I have never done it but loads of people eat with their dogs outside Skippers in Northport. My dogs don't behave well enough, they would annoy us too much to try.

in the summer, we always take our dog with us to the outdoor spots in Huntington. One of our faves is Cafe Buenos Aires where we do sidewalk dining and have some sangria while we people watch.

I also saw that Besito had a dog bowl with biscuits outside so I assume they are dog friendly?

We do this all the time (but live in/near the city). If a place has outdoor seating they're usually Ok with it, but sometimes they want your dog to be outside the barrier between diners & sidewalk. Totally understandable.
The key to getting them to behave is to walk them beforehand so they're tired at the restaurant and just make sure water is available! Pet-friendly restaurants will usually give your dog a bowl of water and sometimes biscuits.

DH thinks I'm crazy but I told him we're taking her ! I definitely have to tire her out first and probably go during the week when its less crowded.
