So fed up with my front loading washer!
Anyone else have an issue with smaller items getting stuck inside that rubber thing in the front of the washer? I dont know what you would call it but its right there as soon as you open the door. I mostly have issues with the kids socks and my underwear. They always end up in there and then I dont think theyre getting washed properly and completely miss the spin cycle altogether so they are drenched when I take them out of there.
Do all front loaders have this issue? It bugs the crap out of me!

Re: So fed up with my front loading washer!
I hate front load washers. I have the same problem as you. They are more expensive and do not last as long as top loaders. We bought our house 3 years ago and the prior owner left us almost new front loaders, otherwise I would not be using it.

Bed Bath & Beyond and Target sell little white laundry bags - for bras and such. It won't fix your washer, but it could help with the socks. I think babies r us has them too.

Re: So fed up with my front loading washer!
I actually called LG about this bc it happened a couple of times with my DS' socks. They advised me to use a slower spin cycle.

Re: So fed up with my front loading washer!
A mesh bag is key. When I first got my front loader, my son was an infant and one of his socks broke the seal in front. The repairman said that the biggest issue with the frontloaders is baby items getting caught in that seal, and told me to use a mesh lingerie bag to keep everything together. I've done that ever since and haven't had any problems!

Re: So fed up with my front loading washer!
I have one that came with my house and I hate it!!! Same thing happens and sometimes I need to do an extra spin cycle because all the clothes are really wet. I secretly hope it breaks soon so I can just get a new one!

This !! Mesh bags are a lifesaver !!
Also, I know that they are supposed to be able to be pretty packed with clothes, but I find that if I do, something is bound to be caught in there. I don't pack mine 100% to avoid this problem.

I use a lingerie bag as well - eliminates the problem.

Re: So fed up with my front loading washer!
After reading this post, I am SO glad I stuck with an "old fashioned" top loader, lol!
I was thinking about upgrading for nothing other than the fact that we could put a countertop on top of the washer dryer in our laundry room... But now I will probably pass.
Thanks again ladies

Re: So fed up with my front loading washer!
Hate mine too. After two years the door seal broke, causing water to leak. Cost 200 to fix
Lots of times, clothes will be drenched and I have to spin it again.
Front loader for sure next time!

this happens to me all the time with my undies & baby socks... I have to check everytime I take clothes from washer to dryer. i usually wring them out (bc yes, they are SOAKING WET!) & just throw them in dryer with the rest of the stuff... I figure they must be getting clean if they are in the washer lol
