feeling the baby for the 1st time
When did you experience your 1st movement? And, what did it feel like? I know some girls describe it as "flutters" - what did it feel like for you? Is it something you only noticed when you were still/quiet or it stopped you for a moment, getting your attention? I'm 14 weeks and cannot wait to feel the 1st movement - i know i still prob have a while, i just wonder what it will feel like. I dont want to miss it!

Re: feeling the baby for the 1st time
The first time for me was a tickle on the inside. Now it's kicks, punches, jabs, and knees. There were certain times of the day I felt it more as weeks progressed- mostly evening when I am sitting down. Now she moves all times of the day.

Re: feeling the baby for the 1st time
I have an anterior placenta so I felt the babes "jab" me at about 23.5 wks, I was sitting on my couch watching tv and it kinda came out of no where and shocked me. I'm 26.5 wks now and I'm still feeling the same type of "jabs", no real kicks yet.

Re: feeling the baby for the 1st time
I felt my first movement last week (20 weeks). We were on a plane, headed to our babymoon. That was certainly inspiration!
I didn't feel any other movement before then, but I have endometriosis and lots of "scar tissue" so I don't think I felt any earlier movement that could have been there.
People have told me "flutters" as well, but i didn't feel that. I feel distinct jabs or the occasional pops but nothing fluttery. Again, i attribute that to my condition.
I do sometimes feel what i describe as "worm-like" movement. I can only imagine thats moving a limb from one end to the other end of the belly. Feels like the shape of your belly is moving around a bit. I sometimes feel that...
You'll know it when you feel it, that's for sure. Hubby was able to feel the "jabs" from the outside too. That's exciting!

Re: feeling the baby for the 1st time
I am 19w and just started feeling some movement in the last week or so. I have felt the baby twice distinctively so far...both times when I was laying down in the evening. The first time was like popping and the second time was like a tap from the inside. Definitely feelings I had not had before!!

Re: feeling the baby for the 1st time
I'm 16 weeks and I swore I felt the bubbly gas type feeling everyone talks about over the weekend. It also could have just been gas.

Re: feeling the baby for the 1st time
I was about 19 weeks and sitting on the couch reading when i felt it for sure. It was like a tap. I wonder now if i felt flutters before that point that i brushed off as gas because its very similar. I just remember after having DC id be driving and be like oooh theres the baby, oh wait nm im not pg anymore must be a gas bubble and thats how now i can say for sure it feels very much like gas. So pay attention bc its gonna start very soon!!!
