Over did fetch with our dog

DH and I were playing fetch with our dog Casey since it was so nice yesterday. She happily fetched every single ball without slowing down so we thought she was okay. well after we got home she was exhausted and slept, this morning she seemed to be in a lot of pain, DH tried to pick her up to put her on the bed and she cried. She never cried out in pain before, is there anything we can do for her? We think its sore muscles since shes a couch potato of a dog. we feel so guilty for not taking it easy with her.

***Update***

Shes feeling much better and was perky last night. We massaged her when we got home and before bed. I guess it was just sore muscles!

Aw, poor thing....she probably just needs rest!! Our dog had an active weekend too and she was pretty lethargic this morning.

I'm sure she'll be back to herself by tonight tomorrow, but if she is still yelping / wincing then you might want to take her to the vet.

where is the pain? have you touched different spots on your pup to see where the pain is? is it in the joints?
