HB at 6 wks 3 days -thoughts anyone??
So, to make a long story short, my HCG levels were rising really slowly, so the RE was concerned about it being eptopic. Last thursday (5 wks 5 days) all we saw was a small little sac that was questionable. My RE told us that we probably wouldnt see anything develop and that I would have to have a D&C this week.
At yesterday's sonogram, the whole room (dr, nurse, DH and myself) were shocked that we saw the baby and it had a HB. the RE said it was still measuring really small and that he didnt feel like this would continue on much longer...but we're still in the wait and see mode. We go back next week to see it develops any bigger.
Has anyone experience anything like this? I had honestly come to terms with having another miscarriage because they kept say how unlikely it is that it'll develop and now I feel like I was given some hope...crazy emotional...

I can imagine what an emotional rolller coaster this is for you.
I am sorry, I don't feel experienced enough to comment on your situation.l do want to give you lots of  for a great outcome!

Same thing happened to my friend...
She did IVF, her first beta was 96 (at 14dpo), great! but then a week later it was only 400....the RE said it was not a viable pregnancy....they kept testing her HCG and it NEVER doubled..it was slowly going up....
they could not see anything on the sonos and suspected ectopic pregnancy...then at 6.5 weeks pregnant, Bam, there was a baby with a HB..it was also lower for what it should have been for 6.5weeks...RE kept saying this is not a viable pregnancy and that she will miscarry....well....fast forward to 20 weeks later she is still pregnant and the baby is doing great!! she is 27 weeks and baby caught up and is perfect for 27 weeks...
don't give up hope!!!

Don't give up hope! I have an aquaintance who got PG, went to the Dr, saw nothing at around 6 weeks and was scheduled for a D&C at 7 weeks. Got to the hospital, they did a sono before the D&C and there was a baby with a HB. She now has a healthy almost 1 year old!

Honestly, I have heard of it going both ways.... I hate to be the voice of negativity here, but I just know from my experiences. I went in and my baby was measuring behind. There was a heartbeat and all, but it was not as strong as the doctors would have liked. At each appointment, it kept measuring more and more behind. First it was 2-3 days... then 5 days... then 7 days..... I was going to two doctors at the time. One was realistic and told me not to get too excited about the pregnancy, while the other told me it was completely fine. I wasn't sure WHAT to think. Ultimately, I had a miscarriage.
I would be prepared either way and hope that you are one of the success stories we hear about!

See the heartbeat as a sign of hope and hang on to that! It could go either way but so can ANY pregnancy, measuring small or not.
