Now That I'm Thinking About It...
Does anyone else knit or crochet?
We should have a preggo-knit/crochet-along or a G2G and we can make cute things for out LOs
Lemme know if anyone is interested.
Likewise, if you don't know how but would like to learn I can teach you!

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...
I just started crocheting! I love it, I learned a few months ago. I'm in the middle of making a blanket and I just made my first little headband if the baby is a . I only know how to single crochet or double crochet. This blanket is taking me forever! I started in february.

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...
My grandmother started to teach me how to crochet when I was younger, but since she lived in Finland, our lessons were limited to when I visited. So, I only know how to make a straight line basically, I don't know how to cross over lol!! I'd love to learn!! Let me know when you're thinking of doing this and what supplies to buy
edited for spelling, just realized I spelled crochet as CROTCHet, I guess my mind was in the gutter!

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...
I do knit and crochet, mostly hats, scarves, blankets, diaper covers/bloomers , newborn cacoons and so on, I have always loved doing both, but hadn't done it in about 4 years -since I had DD, never had time any more- but went back to it actively after I had a MC tis past October, it helped me take my mind of things. I even got bunch of orders fom friends and acquaintances and few from photographers after posting few things on my FB It's so calming and relaxing!

Saturdays or Sundays work best for me (since I'm in Queens and I commute to NYC Mon-Friday). Where are you located?

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...
Weekends are good for me too, almost any week night is good for me except Thurs and Fri (until the end of June).
Anyone else want to join in?
I'm in Massapequa Park now, but we're moving to Levittown soon.

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...
I'm ok with meeting somewhere in Nassau since most of you ladies are from there. Any places where we could sit for several hours?

My sis is in Levittown so at least that's an area I'm familiar with!! Are there any public places that would work for a group knitting session? Unless someone is open to having it at their house?

So a weekend day in the Levittown-ish area?
Just need to think of a place that can accomodate a few preggos and yarn (and they should prob have food, lol)
I'll ask around. If anyone has any ideas let me know!

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...
ok so this is a little further west of Levittown, but probably close to the Southern State....I've heard really good things about this place but never been, check out the pics on yelp, looks very loungy and comfortable, and I think they get a bigger night crowd so we'd probably have plenty of room to sit around and knit if we went there in the afternoon.....just throwing it out there

The only other place I can think of is the Library Cafe in Farmingdale, only b/c I know it's good for groups and they won't "kick you out" LOL (since we had a TTC gtg there and we were there like 4 hours!).

Farmingdale may work since its sort of like "halfway" between nassau and suffolk girls...
I think a coffee place would be good (like starbucks?) since they can't really kick you out. I've gotten coffee w/ friends before and sat there for hours! Or maybe a casual eatery type place like Panera or Cosi?

There's a Starbucks on 110 in Farmingdale next to Sky Drive. Maybe that could work.

Ok, there's also a Starbucks on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown (same shopping center where Dortoni's Bakery is)....but it doesn't matter to me since I'll be driving about the same distance either way from Queens
