Double stroller for Chicco infant seat
what are my options?
if all goes according to plan, my son will be 31 months when DC#2 arrives. we will need a double stroller, right? We have Chicco Keyfit30 infant seats so I need something that can adapt for that carseat.
Do I want side-by-side or in line? How about the Chicco Cortina Together Double stroller? I've read that it can be bulky and people either seem to love it or hate it. I would prefer not to spend a fortune but want something we will love?

Re: Double stroller for Chicco infant seat
I have a Chicco Keyfit also, and my DC will be two years apart. As per the salesepeople at BBB, our carseat works with the City Select, City Mini Double, BOB Dualie, Bumbleride Indie, Britax B-Ready, and obviously the Chicco double. I have no idea which stroller either of us will love, but we have a place to start.

We have the Keyfit 30 as well and we got the City Mini double. We LOVE it! It's so easy to maneuver, it's lightweight, and it fits everywhere!

Re: Double stroller for Chicco infant seat
thanks ladies! i have the city mini single now. I guess I could hold on to that if I am out with one child? and then pick up the double? I want to look at the chicco double also but I hear it is HEAVY!
How much does the city mini double weigh? Is the carseat adapter easy to get on/off?

According to BRU's website, it weighs 31.6 lbs. The adapter wasn't difficult to get on, but it's tedious.
ETA: We haven't taken it off yet, but are probably going to do that this week, so hopefully it will come off easier than it went on!

Re: Double stroller for Chicco infant seat
Love my bumbleride indie twin as well but find that the chicco carseat adapter is bulky on the frame and makes using the canopy on the older child's seat difficult to open and close. I use my bumbleride stroller everywhere I go with my 4 month old and 20 month old but ditched using the chicco carseat adapter after a few times and just put baby in stroller since seat lays flat. Hope that helps

Re: Double stroller for Chicco infant seat
We got the city select but I haven't started using it yet. I tried it in the store though and the adaptor is much easier to put on and take off on the city select than it is on my city mini single.
I think ALL double strollers are pretty heavy unfortunately.
Also look into the Joovy ScooterX2. It is very similar to the city mini double but much cheaper.

Ditto.
The adapter is cumbersome- but not impossible. I just took it off this week (DD is almost 6 months) and put her directly in the seat

Re: Double stroller for Chicco infant seat
I'd wait it out a little.
I didn't go places by myself when DD was a tiny infant... so I used 2 strollers. Used a snap n go like base for the carseat.
Now that DD is 5 mo old, I bought a side by side (DS would KICK DD if she was in front & she wouldn't see anything if she were in the back of the tandem ones).
I test drove all the strollers with BOTH kids in it. IMO, the Chicco makes it so easy to take the kids in & out... I take DD out of the carseat often, so I didn't need an adaptor for my double stroller.
I got the Joovy X2 and love it. It really is inexpensive & works beautifully.
BUT for you, you never know how your DS will be at 36 months or so...
