moms who have delivered at South Nassau
Who is your OB/GYN? Do you love the practice? Can you tell me anything about the practice?

Re: moms who have delivered at South Nassau
My doctor is Dr. Francine Guzman. But, she also delivers at Mercy Hospital...So, if you deliver vaginally, wherever she is when you go into labor, is where you may end up delivering!! I had a c-section and she was great.... even made it so I could stay an extra day, so I could go home with my baby, who was in the NICU. The only thing I don't like is that you have to go somewhere else for all of your sonograms, which became a pain, especially after I was diagnosed with GD and had to have more frequent monitoring and sonograms.
There were times that I was frustrated during my pregnancy because of the back and forth between the OB and the sonogram place and then I had another doctor because of the GD.... but utimately, my c-section went well and I have a very healthy baby....I think I will stick with her whenever we decide to have #2!

I used Dr.Tomilsion and Dr. Oh, they were okay. My sister in law used them also and LOVED them. Depends on your personality I guess. They are in RVC.

Yup- love her. All sonos are done in house, but the wait to see dr. Kagan stinks. Always running late.. I find her worth the wait though!

Dr Robert Dean in Garden City. love the practice never had to wait long. However he never delievered either of my children because he wasnt on call during that time. Once i had dr Oh and Tomlinson. Loved South nassau and all the nurses. It was like staying at a hotel. Private rooms and all.

This was me.... I used Dr Oh as my primary Dr and Dr T saw me once in a while. I couldn't stand his personality or bedside manner... I ended up with him when I started labor but Dr Dean (head of OB at SNCH) ended up delivering my son.. He was awesome. He has an office in Garden City.

I love them both. I had many problems with Dr.King, Loved Dr.Blinderman. If Dr.Blinderman was not with King I would still be there. But I had to leave when Dr.King missed a few serious things during my pregnancy. Went to Dr.Tomlinson and really liked him. He was straight to the point. But I never felt rushed and any time I had a question or concern he called me to talk, not a nurse.
with Dr.Blinderman/Dr.King they deliver at 3 hospitals and if you go into labor and they are at one of the other hospitals you have to go there even if its not the one you want.

Dr. King delivered my DS and I thought she was great. I had a really complicated delivery, it was not fun. Even when things got scary with my health, I always felt that Dr. King was on top of things and knowledgable. She's not warm and fuzzy like Blinderman but she knows what's doing. She was firm with the nurses about what she wanted (eg. I had 3 IV pumps and she made sure I was on pumps even though the nurses didn't do it initially).
If anything, I though she was overly cautious at times but with a sucky delivery, I guess that's a good thing.
I only had issues with an NP there who I believe totally missed that I was developing pregnancy-induced HPB but she's not there anymore, can't remember her name at the moment (Shelly maybe?)

Re: moms who have delivered at South Nassau
I used Dr. Paul Byrne he is located by the Roosevelt Field Mall. I LOVED LOVED him, i had an unplanned csection and he was kind, patient and did an incredible job. He even stayed with me till I was in my own room for the night- he visted me everyday in the hosptial. South Nassau was so clean, private rooms felt like I was in a hotel, the nurses were so caring and took such good care of me and my little boy!!! I even have to rave about the food- they had the best chicken fingers and fries. LOL. I also met my son's ped there- Dr. Lippman was the doc on call and he was so amazing that we now travel from Commack to Baldwin just to see him.
Dr. Byrne's practice was a pleasure as well- all my sonos were done there and lab work as well. Never waited long to see the doctor and all my questions and calls were answered quickly.

Re: moms who have delivered at South Nassau
Dr Melissa Glasser - was very happy. She just opened her own office - I haven't been there yet but she worked out of Dr Tomlinson's office when I was pregnant. She is part of the same delivery group as Tomlinson. She was on vacation when I went into labor so she didn't deliver me but was my OB all along. I had Dean deliver me with my 2nd baby (I used Womans Health Center in Bellmore as my OB back then and that was who wa son call at the time) and Tomlinson with my last baby (Glasser was my ob then).
