Lily of the Valley

I'm trying to clean up some shady areas where nothing grows but weeds, and I like how low-maintenance and hardy (and deer-resistant!) lily of the valley is.

Problem is I have planted (dozens at this point) those little root balls and nothing ever grows.

Does anyone know if there's a place that sells live plants? Maybe I'd have better luck with those.

If you know someone that has them, ask for a few plants. It's easier to transplant them and then they spread quickly.

Be careful with them--they can be pretty invasive.

Holy Cow - you're not kidding! The house I bought 5 years ago had these all over - they spread like wild fire and are completely indestructable. Every Spring I say I am at war with the Lilly of the Valley!

Completely agree! My neighbor planted them on her property and now they have made their way onto my property So much that they started to come up in my grass Chat Icon .
