Anyone seen "Tapped?"
It's a few years old--a documentary on the bottled water industry.
I'm telling you it was a MAJOR eye-opener. I will try to avoid bottled water at all costs after seeing this.
What we are putting into our bodies is incredibly toxic, what it does to communities is heart-breaking.
Bottled water is completely unregulated, the only approvals by the FDA are from studies conducted by the bottled water companies themselves.
I highly recommend seeing this if you drink bottled water and think that something like Poland Spring, Dasani or Aquafina are better for you then tap water. Think again. Please watch this movie!

Never saw it but I believe you. I try to avoid bottled water at all costs. We use a Brita filter and a fridge filter at home. Sometimes when out there really isn't a choice but to use bottles, but I really never trusted it. It could be from someone's back yard hose for all I know!

Re: Anyone seen "Tapped?"
Right but being from a backyard hose isn't even the bad part. The bad part is the toxic chemicals that are in the bottle itself. They are the most lethal chemicals that are found in gasoline. We are literally drinking poison. People in the surrounding neighborhoods of the plastic bottle manufacturing plants all have diseases that were easily linked to the emissions of these chemicals from making plastic bottles.
The amount of water a company can take is unregulated by the government. So Nestle (Poland Spring) drives into Maine and LEGALLY sucks up a sh*tload of water which then forces the communities to PAY FOR THE VERY WATER THE LIVE NEAR.
It's absolutely disgraceful.
We have used a filter on our tap water for years now and I am very thankful we gave up bottles.

Well it doesn't surprise me. I think that is why moderation of everything is the key so you don't get too much of any one thing. I'm sure next they will find something wrong with filters.
I could be wrong but didn't they find a while back that disani etc was just filtered tap water?

Well Dasani doesn't claim to be Spring water like Poland Spring. I think it touts itself as Purified Water with Minerals added for taste. (aka filtered tap water )

Re: Anyone seen "Tapped?"
Yes it is just filtered tap but that's not the issue. The issue is you think you're drinking something healthier than soda or fruit juice but it's the bottle that makes it toxic. You're basically drinking out of a container that's the same as drinking out of a gasoline container (without the nasty taste).
A few years back, there was a drought in Georgia. Communities were not allowed to water their lawns, they had to conserve water by order of the state government...but Coca-Cola (who produces Dasani) was exempt from this and continued pumping out as much water as they wanted.
Check out the movie. You'll be p*ssed!

This is how I feel too, pretty much everything is going to kill us / give us cancer/ etc.. Just do everything in moderation !

Question- are the bottles any different than other plastic containers and bottles? For example soda bottles? Or is all of this stuff leaching chemicals into the stuff we eat and drink?
