Working after 18 months? Help!!

I have been unemployed not by choice, for 18 months. My ds will be 3 and now I have a 5 month old dd. I finally got a job that I will prob love! I am sick over it though. I really can't stay home full time without major sacrifices so I really need to work. I just am having a hard time with it. Mostly how my son will handle me going back. He was only 18 months when I got laid off so he doesn't remember me working. Any helpful advice from moms home for a long time that went back?

i went back when my dd was 15 months, and at first it is hard. The week before and night before are the worst. but it does get better. I think at turning 3 and 5 months they will be okay because they still don't understand. i recently had my second and my daughter was 3.5 when i went back after being home for almost 5 months and i was really worried, but she was fine. i think it was just at the age where it was still okay and she didn't fully understand. Now, turning 4, she gives me a hard time and understands :)

Good luck, it definitely does get easier.

I JUST went back after SAH with DD for 3 years. I have a 3yr old DD and a 10 month old DS. DD is handling it well. They are being watched by family and so they are home, not in daycare. I am sure they would adjust to daycare too but for me, having them in their own home is a good transition. I was more worried abotu DS because he is super attached to me. BUt he seems fine too. I think it is harder on me than on them. I was so upset and kind of still am, to not be SAH anymore. My job is only temporary but I will be looking for something else when it ends. Good luck! they will be fine!!!
