home elliptical or treadmill?

well my home treadmill has finally crapped out, i think i have had it for 5 plus years. I was thinking of getting another one but then I wasn't sure if maybe getting an elliptical would be better calorie-burning wise? this would be more for after i have my baby to get back into shape. TIA!

Personally, I think nothing beats a treadmill in terms of working out. I feel as though the calories burned on the ellipital are never accurate...

I would have to agree with CAMcaps.

I had an elliptical that I purchased right before I had my daughter. Initially I loved it, but I fell into running and recently gave the elliptical to my mom and picked up a treadmill. In a dream world I would have both (elliptical for injuries etc) but I wanted the machine that I felt would burn the most calories and maintain my endurance. In the same 30 minute workout I would say I have seen the most results running compared to when I was on the elliptical.

I prefer the treadmill. The ellpitcal does burn a lot of calories and is a good workout but I feel like running is more of a full body workout then the ellpitcal.

when I run its outside. I have elliptical for when I can't do that. Its also A LOT less
stress on my knees ..is also quieter which is great when fam is sleeping or I want to watch a t.v program as I work out. there are several options and levels and I sweat like a cold beer on a hot day when Im on that thing..

its a personal preference and a treadmill is great if your training.

I have herniated disks so when I used to go to the gym, I always did the elliptical bc it low impact.
