DS sleep pattern COMPLETELY changed...help?
DS is just about 5 months, and had been STTN since even before I went back to work in May...for the past 2 weeks, he has been waking up multiple times throughout the night (best case every 3 hours, worst case every hour)...sometimes he goes back to sleep on his own, but most times I have to go in and roll him back over or move him cuz he gets into a crazy position, put the binky in his mouth...
WHATS GOING ON?????? He doesn't seem in pain or anything when he wakes up, so I don't really know that it's teething...I haven't tried giving him teething tablets though...
I've tried changing the temperature in the room (cooler, warmer) and that didn't work.
Now I'm starting to wonder if he's waking up to eat???? In a full day He drinks about 24 oz of formula and eats about 10 tbsp cereal and 2.5 jars of baby food...I can't imagine he would want more, but for instance, this morning, normally he drinks 7oz in the morning, today he was still crying after, and drank another ounce and a half.
Before I start feeding him more or feeding him in the middle of the night, just wondering if I'm missing something!!!
TIA

It's very very normal for sleep patterns to change at 4/5 months. I would not feed him, that is starting a bad habit! Just try feeding him more during the day, babies don't overeat.
You have a couple of choices. You can go in there and continue to soothe him back to sleep when he wakes and eventually he will outgrow it. If he's not crying, you can just leave him be and he will put himself back to sleep. Or, if he is crying and you are prepared, you can do CIO and let him cry himself back to sleep. This will teach him to self-soothe. It's not for everyone but I found it to be very useful for my 2 kids. And no, IMO, 5 months is not too young.

Their sleep patterns will change as they grow. He will probably go back to STTN in a few days so I'd just ride it out. My DS was fussy when he started sleepign on his stomach and rolling around during the night.
