1st Birthday party help
My daugther is turning 1 next month, I need some ideas on what to do for her birthday, we live in an apartment so it is a little hard to have a party at home. Does anyone have any ideas they could give me.
Thanks

Re: 1st Birthday party help
My cousin has a party place where she deals with a great deal of kids parties. Not sure what area you live in, but here is the website: http://www.rainasplace.com/
Good luck!

Re: 1st Birthday party help
Where are you located?
You could rent a hall (VFW, KOC, etc.). You could call the county/town parks and see if they have any spaces available to rent and do a picnic/bbq party.
If you have a lot of kids and not a lot of adults you can always do a Gymboree type party.

Re: 1st Birthday party help
our apartment is also small. for ds first birthday we did a big party at a catering hall the saturday before. then sunday (which was his birthday) dh and i took him to the zoo and lunch and then had the grandparents over for cake in the afternoon.
this year we are having a bbq at our house for all our friends with kids and DS's godparents (about 15 people) we are asking the kids to meet up in the park down the block to play and then come over for food.
on his actual birthday we are again doing zoo and lunch just us and cake with grandparents.
it depends on how big a deal birthdays are for you and your fmaily. if it's a casual thing, see if you can just have friends over one day and family the next.

Re: 1st Birthday party help
we are planning on renting a hall and having it catered. our house is not big enough for the amount of people that will probably come!

Re: 1st Birthday party help
Do you plan to invite mostly adults or a lot of kids?
You could just have a meal at a restaurant.
They may already be booked but you can call around to places like Gymboree, My Gym, etc. if you expect a lot of kids.

Re: 1st Birthday party help
we are in the same situation we are doing it at my gym, you would end up spending the same amount of money and less work for you.

1st Birthday party help
When DD turned 1, we did it at a VFW Hall. There was plenty of space for kids to have their own area and play and run around as much as they want and plenty of space for adults to sit around and hang out. The added benefit was also that it was air conditioned (it was a hot day) and the hall also has a large yard that we were able to use that is fenced in for the kids to also play in.
We did it a week after DD's birthday and for the day of, we simply had the grandparents over for dinner and cake.
You can also have a bbq at a park or the beach and look into actual places like Gymboree or My Gym.

Re: 1st Birthday party help
Rent a picnic area in a park- Eisenhower has some good locations.
