Can you share your "house babyproofing" items you either LOVE or HATE?
I need to go today to buy stuff to baby proof our house.
What items do you recommend - and which ones do you think aren't good?
Baby gates? Cabinet locks? Garbage locks? door knob locks? outlet covers? t.v. anchors? Square glass table corner protectors?
Anything else?
Thanks!

We have the magnet locks for the kitchen, which are great. Just don't ever lose the magnet. It's just under our sink cabinet. Oh, and the good pots and pans
Gate at top of steps DH changed the outlets to the safe ones that work when two prongs are put in at the same time.
I think that's pretty much it.

I swear by this gate/fence from One Step Ahead.
Superyard
I ordered it to gate off our fireplace area and some other furniture that was really impossible to make safe any other way. We ended up getting a second one and making a large play area for DS. Certainly pricey - but beyond worth it. Completely sturdy and flexible for multiple uses.

a Toilet bowl lock!
I would find DS in the bathroom all the time trying to flush stuff of play in the water, and its so easy to fall in at the young age cause they are top heavy

Thank you all!!
Are there any specific brands that work really well? Or ones that are TERRIBLE?
I have the Superyard, but we don't use it too much. I think I will end up putting that in front of our entertainment center since DS LOVES pressing the buttons on the (quite pricey) receiver.
TOILET BOWL LOCK! Good call! Thanks!!!

Can you share your
I have some cheap plastic outlet covers and a baby gate. Nothing else. We were always with Emmy and our house is small so we didn't need anything else. I don't like locking cupboards and drawers because it just made her want in more. Like I said our house is small so we store toys in the living room and wherever we can. She knows she isn't allowed in kitchen cupboards or drawers and it has always been that way. We use all natural products I make so I might not worry as much, but they are out of her reach as are all sharp objects and pills. She has slammed her hand in a drawer once and a door once. Nothing since then and she knows how to get into them fine. I subscribe to the teach them theory vrs. the block them theory, but I am also a SAHM so she is here 24/7.
I do have a baby gate and couldn't live without it since we have a basement and no door to it. She is NOT allowed on the stairs without one of us watching her. The gate was also nice when she was younger to keep her away from the oven as well.

I do love the sliding outlet covers. Toilet locks are a must. We have all that and small locks at the top of doors we don't want ds going through. We have a whole assortment of cabinet locks. Honestly... All have been fine. We went with a baby proofing service. Reasonable and they had good ideas. We really needed special gates for our staircase and the service worked best for that.

i only have 2 things right now i have the foam that sticks onto furniture, i have it along the length of our fireplace mantle. its pretty thick, went on easy and works well i also bought the protectors that go over the stove knobs because ds was trying to turn them on. they are annoying to cook with but worth it imo

I just did the basic slide locks for the kitchen cabinets with the cleaning stuff and the media center where the DVD's are (she loves to take them all out if she can), stove knob covers, the Safety 1st outlet covers, and this for our tables since it's metal and has sharp corners-def one of the best things we bought too.

I never understood those doorknob covers. Honestly, my SIL used to use them in her bathroom and I didn't know how to use them. Seriously, I'd have to knock from the inside of the bathroom until someone came by and let me out.
