to tell or not to tell...
Im sure it's been asked many times but I have to ask now for me lol
Should I tell my parents/immediate family now? at 4w2d?
or wait until first sono in 3 1/2 weeks?
Im having dinner with my parents tonight and don't know if I can keep it in! I even went out and bought a bib that says I love grandma and grandpa to tell them.
I would only tell my parents, in laws and sister at this point...Im so indecisive!

i was too nervous to tell right away. i waited until after my first appt/sono which was 7 weeks. once we saw a heartbeat and confirmed the pregnancy i felt better about telling. we still havent told everyone yet though...waiting til the end of the first trimester to do that

to tell or not to tell...
I have actually told more friends than family. I'm still very nervous and have decided not to tell my parents until after the NT scan. DH's parents won't find out until around 14 weeks since his going to visit I said it would be nice for him to tell them in person. My sister and one of my brothers know but mostly friends, some who I have told and others who have figured out who I am through LIF. God forbid something happens I know my mom would take it the hardest, the woman wants to be a grandmother in the worst way and asked me at the cocktail hour of our wedding when we were thinking of having children so I want to wait until the end of the first trimester to tell her. It's totally a personal decision and if you want to tell them now go for it!

Re: to tell or not to tell...
there was no way we were not sharing that news with our parents and siblings and best friends. I have never been a believer in the waiting thing... I want them to be excited with us and if something happened I wanted their support.
Everyone (family and close friends) found out early right away cause they knew were were supposed to start IVF on a certain day and kept checking up on me to see how I was doing... I was not going to lie to them after all the support they gave

Re: to tell or not to tell...
I planned on only telling my parents and in-laws, but news travels quick! I waited until I was 10 weeks to tell them, and was going to wait until the end of my 1st trimester to tell everyone else, but news made its way around quickly! Didn't tell my job or friends until the end of the 1st trimester. Its up to you when you want to share! Congrats!

Re: to tell or not to tell...
I think it depends upon your circumstances. I would tell my In Laws the moment I found out because I know that if I loose the baby they will be fine, and be fine with me.
I didn't have a miscarriage, but I had a one week point I though I was pregnant. They were awesome. It was difficult because we all really thought I was pregnant.
I would never tell my mom until 3months, no matter what. I could not take her being devastated.

We didn't tell anyone including our parents until our 12 week sono, but it's a personal choice and you should do whatever you're comfortable with.

Re: to tell or not to tell...
We told our parents right away. The way we figured it, if God forbid something went wrong, we would tell our parents anyway and need their support. My doctor said the same thing about telling people before the 12 week mark. She said tell only the people who you wouldn't mind knowing if something bad happened. So that's what we've done so far.

Re: to tell or not to tell...
I did. My mentality was that anything can happen at any time and I wanted to celebrate the baby. I knew if God forbid something was to happen, I would need my family's support. If you feel comfortable, tell them!!

Re: to tell or not to tell...
It's definitely a personal decision. I found out I was pregnant at about 5 weeks. I only told my sister; and DH told his sister that day.
We really only told them because we were so exicted; and so that we would have support in case something happened

because of our IF issues, we waited to tell everyone until we had like 4 sonos and around the 8 week mark to say anything. This was only my parents, my IL's, my siblings and his. Everyone else gets to wait intul the first trimester is over

to tell or not to tell...
We told parents, siblings, in-laws and DH's grandparents at 4-5 weeks, but mostly because we were living OOS at the time and were visiting both sets of families for Christmas. Everyone else found out after our 12 week sono.

Re: to tell or not to tell...
I wanted to tell my parents early, but DH wasn't in to that, so we waited until our first sono and told them after 8 weeks. We told everyone else after 12.

we told our immediate families at 6 and a half weeks (after the first sono) we told our friends and jobs at 12 weeks (after the second sono / NT Scan) we posted it on facebook around 17 weeks, i think.
As others said, you should do whatever you & your DH are comfortable with. there's no right answer
