We haven't 100% solidified our stroller yet, but both options we're considering come with a bassinet. Is it ok to use that as the baby's bed for the first few months? Or, do I really need a separate bassinet for LO to sleep in?

we had the bassinet and crib but the only thing DS would sleep in was the nap attachment that came with the pack and play...he slept in that for the first 6-7 months.

We'll most likely get a bassinet for our bedroom.

Just putting it out there for the first time moms...many babies have a hard time sleeping flat in the begining, so you may want to have a back up to a bassinet just in case. Especially if you have a gassy baby as I did...JMHO Chat Icon

Rock n plays until they go in their crib. This way I can move them around the house. We have a split and it's too many levels to lug 2 bassinets around. I gigure that way if we go somewhere we can just bring their beds.

for the first few weeks, RNP and swing. That worked really well with our son, so if it works this time, we'll stick with it.

What will your LO be sleeping in?

We have a bassinett that was given to us by family. Once she starts to sleep through the night she will be moved to her crib.

Re: What will your LO be sleeping in?

I registered for a pack and play with a bassinet feature. I also registered for a co sleeper bassinet. I figure I may want to keep the pack and play down stairs and the bassinet in my bedroom. Haven't decided yet.

We have lots of options for baby, we have a crib, rock and play and MIL's friend is giving us a cradle. We dont have much room but the rock and play is portable so when we travel we can put her in that and depending on her we would like to start her off in the crib but if she needs a smaller space then the cradle.

I have a cradle in my room, but I remember DS sleeping sometimes in the bassinet from his stroller, and he seemed to sleep fine in there.

We had a bassanet DS slept in when he was first born. We are debating on doing that again or going right to the crib this time.

Re: What will your LO be sleeping in?

Thanks for all the responses. I'm getting a RNP, so if the stroller bassinet doesn't work, good to have another option. Hadn't thought of that before.
