Are you good or bad at remembering books?
I am SO bad at remembering books! I would love to blame old age but I have always been this way. I read a book and then, by time I am halfway through the next book, I have forgotten most of the first book. So after a few months have gone by, there is barely a trace of the books I read. Some people talk about the plots and characters of books they read years ago and I can barely remember details about books I read months ago. I think I read really fast and also I read ALOT so maybe that is why...

It depends on how much I liked it. If a book is just eh, I'll probably forget it by the time I finish the next book. If not, it'll stick with me a little longer.
I'm REALLY bad with series. They all just blend together into one giant book and I can never remember what happens in which book.

I'm bad with series too! They all blend into one book for me really so I can't usually speak to which specific book in a series something is.
Other than that, I remember books pretty well. I read a lot and oftentimes read more than one book at a time.

I'm horrible! If DH and I go to see a movie and I read the book but he didn't, he'll ask "did that happen in the book like that?". And usually, I can't remember.

I could never understand how people can do that! I have a hard time stopping a series halfway through and reading something different, let alone reading two separate books at the same time.

I really don't remember. There are a lot of books I realized I read but I can only tell you the vaguest outline of what happenned in the book. That having been said, some books are more memorable than others, so i remembered more, especially if they are highly visual. I've read a lot of books twice 9especially series) and that helpsto cement it for me. I've read Harry Potter so many times i can give you a detailed synopsis of each book and if I watch the movie I can tell you with fair accuracy what was and was not in the books

I'm glad I am not the only one. If someone asked me what my fave book of all time was I would say Diane Chamberlain's The Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes but god help me if I could remember anything about it. All I remember is telling everyone that it was the best book I ever read in my life. Pretty scary to be going senile at 35.

Re: Are you good or bad at remembering books?
As a PP poster said it usually depends how much I liked the book.
There are certain books where I feel like I can remember all the details. Then there are others that I could read what the book is about and not remember if I read it or not.
I just started reading series. And TBH by the time I'm finished with the series I don't remember what exactly happened in each book. They do all sort of blend together.
And to the AP - I LOVED The Secret Life Of CeeCee Wilkes. And no one ever talks about that book. I felt like I was the only one that read it.

I am so glad you made this post because this is me to a tee, and i really was starting to think something was wrong with me.
I have a TERRIBLE memory for books (and movies too). Unless I find them amazing, i don't remember much beyond the very skeleton of the storyline
Yet i have an incredible memory for other totally random stuff that normal people wouldn't remember Guess everyone's brain is different.

Re: Are you good or bad at remembering books?
I generally won't remember specifics of a story or even recognize a title because I've read so much over the years BUT if I pick up a book I've read and start to re-read it, it generally comes flooding back and I remember having read it and generally what happened in the story.
Once I realize I've read a book I cannot re-read it, a book is once and done for me.

Same here... once i know what the story is i will remember if i read it or not.

I could tell you a lot about that book and I read it a year or two ago, but it was an awesome book!
So generally, I do remember the books I read as a whole, but the details get blurry. I will forget names of characters and the places, but the overall plot stays with me. Also, my long term memory is much better than my short term so for example, I could probably tell you more about The Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes than I could about any of the books I read last month.
