GD snack/meal help needed!
I was just diagnosed with GD for the second time around at only 13 weeks, ugh! This is going to be a LONG pregnancy and I'm trying to figure out some different food options to make it less miserable for me.
Last time I wound up eating the same things over and over until I could barely look at them anymore and just thinking how much longer I have to maintain the diet this time is overwhelming.
Can any of you share some of your snack and meal options? Does anyone know of a good website that lists meal ideas? I will be meeting with a dietitian soon but I felt last time she mostly stressed what I can't eat and only gave me a few limited choices for "good" food.

Re: GD snack/meal help needed!
Here is the info in the paperwork i got with my GD class:
-eat foods with protein at every meal and snack (meat, chicken, turkey, fish, cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, tofu).
-lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and broccoli can be added/eaten as often and as much as you wish
-choose food high in fiber. fiber helps slow down the speed that carbs turn into sugar, so your blood sugar will not rise as quickly. foods high in fiber include: whole grain bread, beans, fresh fruit, oatmeal with added fiber, etc.
-drink water.
some breakfast ideas: -a whole grain english muffin with cheese and ham -a half cup of cottage cheese with fruit -yogurt -breakfast bar -peanut butter sandwich -whole wheat toast with scrambled eggs -high fiber cereal with milk -hard boiled eggs -2 slices french toast made with whole grain or light wheat bread
some snack ideas: -apple -3 graham crackers -a half cup of ice cream -pretzels -2 small cookies -banana -nuts -cheese and crackers -hummus and veggies -yogurt
some lunch ideas: -whole grain bread with turkey and cheese -salads -tortilla wrap with cheese and salsa -tortilla wrap with meat and veggies -hummus -egg salad -tuna salad
some dinner ideas: -1 cup rice or pasta with chicken and a side of vegetable (like broccoli or a salad) -protein (meat) with beans or vegetables -vegetable and meat stirfry with 2/3 cup brown rice -grilled cheese on whole grain bread with a cup of soup and a salad -salads with meat and beans and cheeses -hamburgers on a whole grain or whole wheat bun and vegetables

Re: GD snack/meal help needed!
I've been eating alot of salads- with chicken and cheese on them........(easy way out I guess).
1 slice pizza with side salad.
My breakfast numbers spiked when I tried rolls and bagels with egg so I now avoid it....... I've been having hazelnut latte oatmeal each morning with a spoon of peanut butter.
snack - 90 calorie granola bites pack peanut butter with special k crackers.

This is a great list - I'm going to bookmark it. I didn't have GD with my first 2 pregnancies, but I suspect I may with this one. Even if I don't I think this is a great way to eat. Thanks again.
