12 Month old afraid of bath time
So my DD has always LOVED bath time.. but lately she's terrified of it. She grabs on to me and refuses to get into the tub. After I finally get her in.. and she sits there extremely tense, I try to wash her hair and ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!!!. She literally jumps out of the bath and into my arms.. What happened???? I'm so confused!!!!
HELP!!

Re: 12 Month old afraid of bath time
My 3 year old DD was the same way at the age. She loved the bath and then around 12 months started to despise it. I tried to find new bath toys and things to amuse her. If all else failed, I had my DH help and we did the fastest bath possible. This only lasted a few months and then by 18 months I couldn't get her out of the bat b/c she loved it so much.

we are dealing with the same thing except DD is 2 - she loved bath time. now for the past few weeks she is a nightmare. I wish I had some advice for you but we just try to get her in and out as quick as possible. I am hoping it is just a phase

Re: 12 Month old afraid of bath time
DS is difficult at bath time when he's tired. I try to do it earlier (even before dinner if necessary). I also add more bubbles, new toys, crayola washable crayons, foam letters, whatever it takes.
There have been times I've had to get IN the tub with him (fully clothed no less) and wash him down quickly because he was clinging on to me so tightly. Those were not fun nights.

Same here but the passing phase lasted from around 1 year old until now at 25 months. And I don't see an end to it. It's a huge ordeal anytime she needs a bath. The screams are so bad I just know the cops will show up one day!

Oh man..
I don't know how to wash her hair at all.. the second the water hits her hear it's like all hell broke lose!
How often do you ladies wash their hair? I normally do it every other day.. now I'm thinking about doing it once a week... I don't think my heart can take this more then that.

I try to do it every other day, but sometimes the fight isnt' worth it. I have taken to putting a little shampoo on a washcloth and washing her hair that way. I use a low sudsing wash/shampoo so it's not to bad to rinse with just a wet washcloth. But even for that she screams and gets hyserical!
