Busch Gardens in Tampa?
Has anyone been recently to the Sesame Street area? Is it big? Is the park mostly animals? We are going to be on the gulf coast of FL soon, and while I said no theme parks this trip, I found a great deal on tickets, so was thinking of trying it out. Any tips?

Re: Busch Gardens in Tampa?
have not been recently since this. When we went there was a dragon area that was very cute. However We got much more out of Lowry Park Zoo. Our favorite zoo ever and Parent magazine rated it one of the top 10 zoo s in the country. So you might want to consider that too or instead.

Re: Busch Gardens in Tampa?
We were there in Sept 2011. DS was 23 months at the time.
We spent our entire time in the Sesame St area bc DS loved it. It was great for his age. He enjoyed splashing, etc. I don't remember much about rides since he was so little, we went on probably 1 ride. I wouldn't say the area is big though. Not sure what it's like for older kids. I wouldn't go just for the sesame street area.

Re: Busch Gardens in Tampa?
I don't post on here very often, but my mom lives in the Tampa area so we are there several times a year.
We went to the Lowry Park Zoo while we were there in June. It was really nice and can really be done in 1/2 day if you want to.
We also went to Great Explorations Childrens Museum in St. Pete. It's only about 20 mins from Tampa and well worth it! My son had the time of his life there. You can check out the website, but its a totally hands on museum, complete with a supermarket, veterinary hospital, fire truck, news room and a huge tree house with slides among other things. We spent a better part of the afternoon there. (DS had just turned 2). I would highly rec this place. It is directly next to the Botanical Gardens as well. We weren't able to go to the gardens bc it was raining that day tho.
Clearwater Beach is beautiful. It is fairly easy to get around, and once you park the car there is so much there within walking distance. (Food, shops, etc)
We also went to the Clearwater Marine Center where Winter the dolphin is from A dolphin Tale. It was ok. Its not very big, and for $12pp I really expected a little more.
HTH!

We are staying on the beach, so we'll be in Clearwater most of the time. The Great Explorations Childrens Museum sounds fun! I'm going to write that down. We are already planning to see Winter, my DD has been wanting to do that since the movie came out. Fortunately I found buy one get one free coupons, to make it more manageable, because I did hear it's very small.
I really don't like zoo's at all, so we'll be skipping the Lowery Park one I think. That is why I asked about Busch Gardens being mostly animals (our least favorite park is Animal Kingdom at Disney lol).
Thanks everyone
