Re: crickets in the house
I get them in August usually in basement - buy glue traps and put them where you see them.

Yes. Cave crickets. I noticed the last 2 weeks they are showing up again. I bought a cricket killer powder in ACE last year and used it again in the laundry room and under the sink and so far, only saw one. I also put it outside the perimeter of the house foundation as I saw them outside and in our shed. Gross!

Re: crickets in the house
Yes! I've never had them before. Heard one in the basement, went down to look for it and the thing was huge and out in the open. Couple hrs later, I heard another, same thing, right out in the open. Two down and then dh found another doing laundry. I'm guessing there are more? And they're cave crickets like the pp mentioned? I have to go Google now!

Yikes! Last fall is the first time I came face to face w these huge things. I'm terrified of them! I'm dreading these things coming back, I need an exterminator

Re: crickets in the house
Cave crickets don't chirp. They are the ugliest things ever.. Glue traps work for them. But don't throw them out after you catch some. They are attracted to the dead ones. A for regular cricket, I would try the traps too.

Oh boy..I was hoping I would be getting away from bugs when w move out of queens. I never saw a cave cricket in person but I googled it. In the city, you get the occasional american cockroach aka waterbug. IMO THEy are the ugliest things ever.

Re: crickets in the house
We have an an unfinished basement and last year I wouldn't even walk down there because there was so many. This year I bought Home Defense (at Lowes it's in a white/red bottle) and you squirt it along the foundation- in and outside. So far I've yet to find one! So save some $ and try to rid of them yourself first.

Re: crickets in the house
We get them downstairs and the glue traps do a good job on them. We used to have some show up in our family room which was had been converted from a garage and the former owners didn't do a very good job. We refaced the front and sealed up some holes where they had been getting in an no more problems.

Yes!!! This is what we do. We leave a glue trap and after a few days a few more hop on. It's gross but they are harmless (so says DH) but I can't help but scream at the top of my lungs every time I encounter one in the basement.

Re: crickets in the house
Yes, we had a problem with crickets in the past.
Get bug barrier by Raid. You can spray along the perimeter inside and outside the house. Works great.

What kind of RAID did you use?
I just went to my basement and found the mother of all spider crickets on one of my glue traps! It was HUGE!!!
