Anyone get a metabolism test?
I did this at my dr. the other day. Weird test! Anyway they told me I should eat 1700-1800 calories a day to be in my weight loss zone. I'm going to work that into myfitnesspal and see what happens. It had me at 1200 calories a day (haven't lost weight!).

I have had one done. My endocrinologist does one every year.
Low intake limits are my big issue with myfitnesspal and other similar apps. Follow the recommendations provided to you by your doctor. You can simply adjust the limits in myfitnesspal.

Yes, I just went for a physical recently and asked my doctor about it. He did it right in his office. I know my friend did it at her endocrinologist. Test was awkward but interesting.

Your resting metabolic rate is measured by indirect calorimetry. The doctor's office has a machine that you breathe into for 10 minutes. The plug your nose and the machine measures the amount of gas you breathe out- Oxygen and carbon dioxide

So my new GP has the equipment to perform this test. I really want to have it done but I am concerned that it wouldn't be covered by insurance? I asked the medical assistant and she said to call Empire. Which I did, but the lady on the other end didn't know what the procedure code for this test was so couldn't tell me for sure. Now I don't know what to do! lol

Call the doctor's office back and ask them for the procedure code. You may need to speak to the billing department to get the code.
