Dreading the weekend...

Just need to vent here...

My husbands family lives upstate and this weekend is my niece and nephews christening. (twins). I am my niece's godmother and I am really honored and excited that my sister in law chose me. Of course being around the little babies may make me a little sad but that's not really the part that i am dreading...

We are staying at my inlaws. The last time I saw them was when we told them they were pregnant. They promised us they wouldn't say anything, but then we found out they told my husbands aunts, uncles, grandparents, and who knows who else... His aunt even wrote a note on his Facebook wall and I had to log into his account and delete it so no one else would see! This was about 4 weeks ago.... Then a few days after we found out we were definitely losing the baby. My husband told them the bad news but they didn't apologize to me for breaking their promise, or even say anything to me about what I was going through- never called to see how I was doing... Whenever they did call it was just to speak to my husband about something. So I am still really angry with them and upset and now we have to stay there all weekend!! I just know they will do or say something to make me upset because my MIL especially always says the wrong thing!

Dreading the weekend...

Today is the first time I am seeing DH family since my miscarriage.
We told them ourselves because my dr said everything looked good at my 7 week appointment ... His one aunt never said yay when we announced all she said was i wouldn't say anything it's too early ...
Fast forward to my miscarriage at 11 weeks no call from them to DH or me no email nothing ... I had neighbors checking on me after my d and c but not his family

We all go through it ... Seeing the babies is hard ... My sister had her friend and her 1 year over to go in the pool ... Cried for an hour that I didn't want to go poor DH didn't know what to do ... Long story short I went and enjoyed her and thought positive thoughts for my next time I can TTC

I totally understand - I told my mother in law NOT to tell anyone and she told everyone. It still annoys me, I want to punch her face in every time I see her because of it. lol

Just try to act normal and if it comes up then tell them you were really annoyed that they told everyone.

I've got a horror story too! My MIL decided to announce at Mothers Day dinner that her chiropractor asked her if she had any grandkids and she said "I did but I don't anymore".
We had told no one besides immediate family that we were pregnant and lost the baby.

I still want to kick her in the teeth some times.

Well if I thought my MIL and FIL were bad enough with telling people, my sister in law may have been even worse!! And she has 2 sets of twins through IVF you would think she would understand how sensitive of a topic this is... But she told the entire world about every step of her process through mass-texts and emails.

Anyway 2 of her friends came up to me at the party and said "oh congratulations I heard you were pregnant! how are you feeling" etc etc. like its bad enough that I am surrounded by babies and little kids all day- which doesn't really upset me becuse I love all my little nieces and nephews! But I was caught off guard and then I had to explain that I lost the baby and that made it awkward.

I've learned my lesson- next time I am not telling anyone on that side of the family until I am 15 weeks.
