Trying to help my friends out. Question
A few weeks ago both of my friends lost their jobs within a week of each other and now this week their 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer. We live in a very small town so the local hospital sent her to a pediatric hospital about an hour and a half away on Monday and today she had surgery. They say she will have to stay another week and then possibly stay longer to start her treatments. Her mom has been staying with her at the hospital but her dads been going back and forth to take care of their other kids. They barely have money as it is and within the week they went through whatever little savings they had on gas money. I helped them as much as i could this week and I'll do what I can next week. Someone was telling me there's a company that will donate to people who are in these situations. I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of such company/ organization? I'm going to do some research tonight and hopefully find something to help them out. Thanks for reading!
I don't want anyone to think that im asking for donations. That's not what this post was about. Just trying to see if there was such company who did help families in need like my friend told me about. She heard about it from a friend and will try to get me the info ASAP but I figured I'd ask here.

Have you called Ronald McDonald house? Maybe there's one nearby so they all can be together? They also might know of another organization that can help.

Re: Trying to help my friends out. Question
There's a grant program, whose website is www.freegasusa.org. Look at the site www.1uponcancer.com, it has a list of discounts, grants, etc for people with cancer & their families. to your friends and for a complete recovery for their daughter.

Trying to help my friends out. Question
A good hospital social worker is gold! Hopefully there's one that can help at the hospital they are using. If not, FM me, I know some social workers in oncology offices that might know of other avenues....
I knew a person who benefitted from angelflight (I know this won't help your friend, but there are various types of organizations out there). Sending good thoughts your way. I hope things get better for your friends soon.
