help me with our Lancaster itinerary, please

Hi ladies,
I am so anxious about the fact that my maternity leave is ending and that I am going back to work tomorrow after a year and a half... so I need a diversion. We are headed to Lancater later this month and I could use some help with our itinerary. We will leave LI on Sunday morning and go right to Dutch Wonderland. Then, we have 10:45 tickets to see Thomas on Monday morning, and then will head home Tuesday afternoon after the hands on children's museum. I was wondering about restaurant recommendations (I noticed Good n Plenty and some others that came highly recommended are closed on Sundays). I was also wondering about Amish farm tours. Any and all thoughts about other sites and attractions are welcomed! Thanks so much!

Oh, we will be 6 adults, 2 four year olds, and 3 1.5 year olds.

We like to eat at the Red Caboose after we see Thomas. The food is nothing special but the kids like to watch the trains go by.

Re: help me with our Lancaster itinerary, please

We tried Cracker Barrel for the 1st time when we were in Lancaster in June and really liked it. It's very affordable and perfect for kids.

As for your itinerary - the day we did the Day Out With Thomas we actually spent most of the day there. DS (32 months then) really had a great time as did we. We did a lot of looking around, shopping for Thomas things, pictures with Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt, etc. We had 10:45 ticket also (and also did a ride on the regular train) and we were there until 3PM. DS who did not nap was asleep in the car before we even left the parking lot.

With children that small (1.5) you may be trying to pack in too much if you try to do an Amish farm tour the same day you do Thomas. But, if you do do it, there are lots of brochures in the area and I remember seeing a couple of tours offered when we were in the general vicinity of Kitchen Kettle. There's one called the Amish Experience.

ETA: We also ate at Miller's and Good N' Plenty. Are you sure they are closed on Sunday's? We were in Lancaster for Father's Day (sunday) and ate at Miller's but I remember also calling Good N' Plenty about that day.

We ate in the hotel restaurant....It was good..
We stayed at the BW Eden Resort. Cracker Barrel is really good and it is right by the outlets!

Millers and plain and fancy should be open on Sunday ...Good and Plenty is deff closed .... By dutch wonderland there is a fudruckers and a roadhouse BBQ ... If you go past DW there is a Perkins that we eat in a lot .... There is an Amish tour by the target also that is nice ... Kitchen kettle village is a nice laid back activity where kids can decorate their own gingerbread man go on pony rides milk a pretend cow buggy ride ..a petting zoo and a small playground oh and a place to watch fudge being made ... That is closed on Sunday's but you might do that after Thomas instead of the farm tour .... Just a suggestion

if your picky about restaurants, the ones downtown are a bit of a drive, but wonderful. Use yelp to narrow down, I find the reviews very helpful on there.
