where to go for our honeymoon??
So dh and i didn't take our honeymoon right away, but we're planning on going in february..we'll have 9 days, if we push it 10..over the school break though bc i'm a teacher
we'd like to go somewhere neither of us have been, and we want WARM..laying on a beach, maybe 1-2 excursions (outdoor nature stuff)..we also don't want to go TOO crazy price wise (so no bora bora/tahiti lol)
however, here's the list of places we've been:
mexico (cancun/cozumel)
bahamas
puerto rico
bermuda
turks/caicos
dominican republic
costa rica
belize
hawaii
australia
prague
italy
france
spain
my bff suggested nevis, and right now that's at the top of our list, but we're just looking to explore if there's anywhere else we should consider
we'd like to go outside the us (although hawaii is a possibility), and we'd like to avoid jamaica and save that for next february
ideas????

aruba ... we did two excursions on our honeymoon - an island tour and a sunset snorkel cruise (AWESOME!! - the black pearl  ) ... rest of the time, we just lazed around, shopped, ate, lol ...

Hawaii! 9 - 10 days is enough to see 2 islands. We went 2 years ago and flew direct with Continental from Newark to Honolulu. Now you can get direct airfare from JFK to Honolulu with Hawaiian Air! There is so much to do in Hawaii.
ETA- I just saw that you said Hawaii is a possibility. Honestly, you don't even feel like you're in the US when you are there.

We have done St. Lucia twice and absolutely loved it. We loved the beauty of the island and its amazingly friendly and laid back people. We also like that it has beautiful beaches but also a volcano, a rainforest, hiking, diving, and cultural sites. The capital city is totally safe to walk around and there's a lot to do. It also has really amazing dive sites, which we enjoyed. We've stayed at Sandals La Toc twice and loved it SO much. We also LOVE Butler service. I would also suggest that if you haven't done SCUBA that it's a great thing to try together on a honeymoon. We did a resor course on our honeymoon and then completed our certification on our 1st anniversary trip. I loved the combination of learning somehing new, relying on each other, and discovering a whole new world together.

If Tahiti/Bora Bora is on your list - look into a cruise! We did a 10-day cruise through the French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, and Raratonga) and it was a fraction of doing a land-based vacation.

I had opposite experience. We went to St. Lucia on our honeymoon in 06. Stayed in the Sandals Regency Golf Resort & Spa. Hated it. They were doing renovations in the same place we were staying. We actually had to switch rooms, and we had butler service. Granted, that wasn't the only reason we didn't like it. I felt the island wasn't "nice". We ventured out on tours, excursions, and wasn't impressed with the island, nor the people, nor the scuba diving, and both dh and I have been certified and been diving for years...Anybody that asks, I never recommend St. Lucia. But that's just us. On the other hand...
We loooove Aruba!! Love the weather, love the people, love the restaurants, love love love..lol..we've gone 3x and stayed in our timeshare, Marriott Surf Club, which is great, and we wouldn't recommend all inclusive since the food is awesome and not very expensive. And February is awesome weather...good luck!!

I definitely wouldn't compare St. Lucia's rainforests with Costa Ricas and it's not as picturesque as some other islands, but there's just something about it that I love. 
ETA: There's someone else on here who hates the resort I went to, but I loved it. *shrugs*
ETA: I may pick your brain about Aruba. We have a ton of Marriott Point and were thinking of using them there at some point...Aruba or Costa Rica...or Italy... I can't decide!

aruba or cabo!
cabo may have more excursions tho...we were there on a port stop and we did an ATV ride that started in the desert and went to the beach. it was gorgeous and amazing and so much fun!

We love Isla Mujeres Mexico. Its a small island off of cancun, but it is nothing like cancun. It was affordable and the beach was stunning. great snorkling nearby. There is also a place on the island where you can swim with dolphins. Everynight the sunsets are out of control beautiful! There are lots of great restaurants in the town as well. Some on a cobble stone st., and some along the water and on the beach.
I have heard great things about Nevis as well as St. Kitts.

The Bucuti & Tara resort in Aruba is super romantic and relaxing. Almost everyone there is on their HM or celebrating an anniversary. No one under 18 is allowed. Its a small resort with about 100 rooms. There is never a problem getting a nice lounge by the pool or on the beach (which is beautiful). They give you a little red flag on a stick and when you put it in the sand they come righ over to take your drink order. Went there on my HM last Oct and LOVED it adn would highly recommend it.

Another vote for Aruba. Beautiful island w/lots of fantastic restaurants. Plus you can go to Bonair and Curaco, which I absolutely loved.
Virgin Islands (US or British) are beautiful also, and very easy to travel between via ferry.

Barbados is far and away my favorite island.
I like Nevis, but I think its kind of boring - though the Four Seasons is amazing if you stay there!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Costa Rica! DH and I went there on our honeymoon and went again this year! It's inexpensive, there are beaches, there are lots of nature things to do, lots of fun and relaxing. I could go on and on. It's my favorite place!
BTW, our honeymoon was on the Feb break. Weather in CR was fabulous :)
