Freaking : UPDATED
As I mentioned the other day, I was diagnosed with cellulitis on Thursday.
My leg is feeling significantly better (although it does still hurt some). It is really not red at all anymore, but there is still a bump there. It's warm, but not nearly as hot as it was. It's also still hard, but not as hard it was.
I went back today, and a different doc saw me. He said that he doesn't think it's a blood clot, but I should have it tested anyway since it is still hard. I can't get an appt. for the test until Monday at 4, and he said they won't have the results until Thursday.
Is that normal?? I am freaking out. Am I supposed to sit with a blood clot for a week? I'm so scared. We're calling a million places, but everyone is closed for the weekend.
Update: I went to the ER and it is, thank God, not a blood clot.
Thank you for all of the helpful info!!!

Re: Freaking out
I would go to the emergency room or an urgent care place.

ER is definetly the place to be.
For further reference, Good Sam in West Islip has walk in radiology 7 days a week for regular xrays, sonograms and dopplers. You can bring a doctor's script there and they will take you. I went there many times after my DVT and PE when I was worried about pains.
As for the doctor not getting results for a few days, if you really had a blood clot they would call your dr immediately and your dr would call you to goto the ER. Minutes matter so they wouldn't let it sit for days.

They can tell if you have a clot by doing a Doppler on your leg. And they will know ASAP. I had 3 and they knew during the scan. If you have one you will be put on thinners

Even though they gave you the all clear - if you have any problems breathing, lung or chest pain, get to the ER immediately. The dopplers aren't 100% accurate - I know from experience.
