Swtiching Bottles: AVENT vs DR Browns or any other brand u suggest??
Hi Its time to buy bigger bottles for DS who is turning 5 mos. We have used Dr. Browns for the last 4 months. We used the medela before. he never had any nipple confusion issues.
I was thinking about switching from Dr Browns to Avent since Dr Browns are such a pain to clean due to all the parts. Looking for opinions on whether or not to switch. Heard some reviews about the Avent leaking.

We don't use either brand - we have Born Free and Tommee Tippee (which have only the bottle, nipple and ring!) - but I heard that avent leak as well. However, I believe they added an extra part to their newer bottles to prevent leaking. Maybe buy one and try before you buy a ton.

I have Dr. Browns and can't stand using them..cleaning alone is torture..but, with that said, it has helped with DS's gas. I am actually thinking about switching when he is a bit older..

Us too- Born Free & Tommee Tippee. Like both!

Avent user here. They did change their classic bottle and added an extra ring. Since I no longer had my bottle from the first two DC, I had to buy them again. I was frustrated that they added a part. So I returned them and got their newly designed bottles (pink even  ). They are only the bottle, nipple and ring. I like them so does DD. No leak issues. I do remember with my boys that if I over tightened the cap, they would possibly leak. I haven't found that to be a problem with their new design(look very similar to tommee tippee)

I couldn't stand all the parts either until i decided that they were going to go in the dishwasher. Now, I have a lot less stress with the dr browns.

I use Avent. No problems with leaking at all.
This! Only problem I have had with these leaking are at 3 am feedings when I forget to screw the top on and decide to shake 
Otherwise no leakage and easy to clean.

I started out with Dr. Browns and also had a couple Medelas that came with my pump. I never noticed any difference (dd did have some gas/spit up issues) and neither did her babysitter so I ditched the Dr. Browns and we've been using Medela. I love them because I can pump into them without any adaptor and never have to transfer milk to anything else.

We love Born Free! It's all we have ever used with both our boys. They have a vent to prevent gas, not many parts (all dishwasher safe)- love them!

I loved born free... for ds we used the glass bottles of theirs. I couldn't stand cleaning dr browns anymore, I said I wouldn't mind but I did
