Kardashians
Posting here instead of on the celebrities board because I think it's a more relevant convo for us IF'ers. Anyone see the episode of 'Keeping Up' last night? I thought it was interesting that Kim is looking to freeze her eggs since she doesn't know if or when her time will be. I never thought of people doing that before. Was it just me or was she using the reconsitution needle to inject?? Then there was Khloe's story...I can relate to her because I have the same hard exterior that she has - I don't 'allow' myself to be sad, scared, etc....then when something like this happens you're in denial...which I think she is. I guess all the money in the world can't buy you normal fertility. Even celebs go through this stuff. I'm sure a lot of people have opinions about the Kardashians and who they are and what they do, but infertility is sad for anyone even if you don't care for their life-style. I hope it works out well for her.

Re: Kardashians
I didn't see the episode but I saw a clip of it online. I felt so bad for her. I'm not a fan of these ladies. But my opinion of them as a group is very different the my opinion of them as individuals.
I felt bad when she got upset on camera. I love that she is being honest about it though. I actually hope she keeps her progress open to show others it's ok to talk about it and you don't have to hide when you are IF.
I never knew how many people IRL were IF until I started to open about our struggle. All of the sudden I learn this baby is IVF, that baby was IUI #5. And when I asked why I never knew - it's oh, I didn't want to talk about it. Or didn't want to burden anyone, or the worst one yet "I was ashamed" (Which I feel sometimes too) There is no reason for women to suffer alone.
Thankfully we have this forum, which is a HUGE help

I thought it was a great episode that really shed light on a taboo subject and helped bring it into the mainstream.
You can tell Khloe isn't addicted to Google and any sort of internet forum bc she was clueless about the whole thing (while explaining it to her family). I feel really bad for her but it's great that she has such a great, close knit support system. And tons of cash. That helps too LOL

Re: Kardashians
I saw the episode and question whether she was really doing this. Like you said, the size of the needle was not for the injection she was doing. And wasn't she on the pill when this aired, so how is she stimming to retrieve and freeze her eggs? Maybe she came off the pill and started, but the size of that needle in the abdomen really made me wonder. I hope that this wasn't just something she made up she was doing for ratings.

Good point! Although one thing I've noticed about this and a bunch of other reality shows is that things don't always happen in sequential order. I've often noticed segments that are obviously out of order or leap ahead in time. If you notice, last night Kourtney was wearing a necklace that had an 'M' and 'P' on it (Mason & Penelope, I presume) but that as during interviews that she did prior to the baby being born on air. In those segments ou could see she already had the baby. So I think sometimes things happen weeks later and they air them on the same episode. But...I'm not a reality tv expert lol

Re: Kardashians
To the PP..yes Khloe seemed very 'green' when it came to this type of info. Seems she really is just learning and starting from scratch. A scary time. I guess the show is off the air til next year...I guess we'll have to depend on the tabloids to hear if things work out for her!

Re: Kardashians
Funny you should say that with the needle. I saw a clip on some entertainment show where she's afraid to inject the needle and her mother stabs her with it. And the needle didn't look like the size of any subQ needle I ever saw. Was wondering if it was a "Hollywood" retractable needle? Are they allowed to actually inject on a TV show?
Did Kim and Chloe go to the doctor together? LOL... I don't actually watch the show. But, I'm sure they splice it as it works for TV.

I was wondering about the same thing (whether it was a fake needle) but they showed her finger bleeding after the mother stabs her. Of course, that could have been made-for-tv too!
