If you go away without kids- where do the kids go? (POLL)

If your parents are watching your kids or your in laws while you're away...

do you pack the kids up to go to their house OR do the parents come to your house to stay? I'm talking about for say a week, not just 1 night.

So far we've only done one night.
Parents have always come to us.
It's just easier with all the things DD needs, her crib, her own room, her toys, her clothes, food, etc
To drag all that to them woudln't be worth it.
Plus she never ever sleeps well except in her own room/crib

When she gets older, I'd consider having her stay with them. Just not at this age

We take the kids to my ILs.

We live in NJ, and my MIL will not drive with anyone in the car. There is not many walkable places where I live for her.

They live in Queens and within blocks of everything, so it's just easier for them if we bring the kids there.

Take them to my parents or they'd go to my IL's. My parents live around the corner from us. They have toys, crib, diapers, wipes, etc. it's nice even when we go there to visit its easy that we don't have to bring anything. They keep the boys food there as well. It's like their second home so they are so comfortable sleeping over.

Both! 2x we brought DS to my parents and 1x my in-laws came and stayed at our house.

The kids used to go to my inlaws house. I want them to come here instead , but they won't. We don't travel without the kids anymore

yeah this is our 1st trip without them and probably our last.

It's just too much with a 4 year old and a 8 month old (more so the baby) because they don't have a crib, we have to pack up the pnp, 25 containers of baby food, 9 bottles of formula, drop ins, their clothes, bibs, toys, strollers, gear, etc etc.

In my family, the grandparents came to our house to watch us.

my inlaws won't.

Just curious what everyone else does.

My sister has stayed here for a night, but neither of our patents ever have. They always have us bring the kids to them. And no one has EVER watched our kids for more then two nights. EVER.

when we did it for 2 nights, we packed up and brought it over........ definitely a PITA and would be easier at my house.....

BUT before I had kids I use to think that if my mom was volunteering her time to watch my niece/nephew for free that it would be easier for her at her own house- which my sister never did......So thats why we pack ds up and bring him to my IL's.

I just got back yesterday from our first trip away. We left on a sat morning and I came back Monday afternoon.

We actually spilt the babysitting between my parents and il's. We live away from family so it's a little different for us but we came down Friday afternoon left before she woke up sat. My il's dropped her off at my moms Sunday around 12. And my mom had her until I got Monday afternoon. It worked out great.

She had a blast with everyone. They said she was so good.
My il's would probably stay by us of we asked but my parents would never stay over. It's a pain but both sets have a crib or pnp already. But we still need to pack diapers and wipes and toys for il's.

But it was great and a well needed break for all of us

He goes to my moms, or my MIL house.
