Dog muzzle
My dog is very excitable and has had three incidents where he has lunged at people either in play or to protect me both on and off leash. Today he was playing with my neighbor's dog in their front yard and her tenant came home and was standing talking to us- my dog play bowed and then jumped on the guy and bit him on his thigh. I wanted to hide. After talking to my dog trainer I feel I have little choice but to muzzle him in public. I am looking at the baskerville ultra muzzle. It is recommended by my trainer who I trust but I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with it. PLEASE if you do not have something positive to add keep it to yourself! I am sad enough over having to resort to a preventative device while continuing to work on behavior modification.

I understand and can sympathize. I have a dog like this. He gets so excited he goes ballistic.
No experience with the muzzle. But I just wanted to offer you  .

Thanks! It was a hard choice to have to resort to a muzzle. DH brought it home last night and we tried it. Cody was fairly receptive to trying it on and he wore it for about 30 minutes without much complaint. Of course he was getting tons of positive reinforcement and was rewarded with one of his favorite nylabones after taking it off.
