DOE Student Hearings?
There was an incident in my classroom with a student and he is facing sup. suspension. I was told I have to go to the hearing.
Has anyone ever done this? What should be expected?

Re: DOE Student Hearings?
I had to go to a super's hearing once for an incident in my classroom. It wasn't DOE, but a LI Public school. I basically just had to give the facts as to what happened and that was it. Other than that, I didn't play a huge role.

Re: DOE Student Hearings?
Thanks. I wasn't sure if I should have like union representation or anything like a legal proceeding.

Most likely your district will have a representative if it goes to impartial!

Re: DOE Student Hearings?
I work for the DOE and went to one last year. The dean of my school went with me. We had to write a statement and made sure all parties had the same story. With that being said- the student plead guilty and we never had to have a hearing per say. Good Luck!!
