Too many papers and drawings
What do you do with all the things that come home from school? I have three kids and they come home with so many papers. DS is in first grade and his folder is full every day he comes home. Do you save homeworks and drawings? Throw some out? I tried to save it all in K and it became a HUGE binder. I don't think I can do the same this year. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I don't save papers. As far as artwork you can take pictures and have a photo album of it and then if you want keep a few you can. Clean pizza boxes work well to file things and don't take up too much room.

I throw away probably 90% of stuff. I don't keep any dittoes, worksheets, nothing like that. I put tests up on the fridge for a week and then I chuck them to make room for the following weeks tests. I keep really nice art projects, stuff that's really special. I get rid of a lot.

I hang stuff on my walls and then after a while I will throw it away. Special things are kept in a big plastic box.

I keep a few things every so often. 1st spelling test, first hw of the year and then a few here and there.

Re: Too many papers and drawings
Only a few things - extra special art projects, a sample of the years homework and a test or two. I have a school year book where I keep a few of these items and a big art folder for each child - which may eventually just become a bin.

Re: Too many papers and drawings
I throw away most of it. If there is something very cute I'll keep it.

Re: Too many papers and drawings
I only have 1 child, so I have kept everything from preschool and now kindergarten. I bought one of those big reusable tote bags from the supermarket and everything goes in there and at the end of the year, I staple it closed and label the year.

I only save the art work. I have a container for each child. The only reason I save art work is my mother did it for me and I thought it was so cool to see it 20 years later.

Re: Too many papers and drawings
Thank you so much for the responses. I am going to save a few pieces of artwork and the first tests is cute.
Maybe I can become crafty like Pintrest and make a board to hang their artwork on.
