Weird Miscarriage Symptoms please help
Hello, my doctor told me I was having a miscarriage two weeks ago a Sono showed the sac was falling apart. A week later I went back for a Sono last weds and I was told the uterus was empty. I had light bleeding that entire week and some cramping in my stomach and rectal spasms. The night of the sono I began to have worse rectal spams, gas pains and sharp pains in stomach and the bleeding got heavier. I called doc to see if this was normal even though uterus was empty and they said it was but I didn't mention rectal spasms because I didn't know how to describe it. The next few days were horrific, Thurs, Fri and Sat I was doubled over in pains that felt like the worst diarrhea cramps of my life, they made me naseous and dizzy, more rectal pressure too so I couldn't sit comfortably. By Sat, I did have loose stools ( and pressure/pain) with it and have been having them since along with cramps when I have a BM. By today i feel much better but def still not great. I am also still bleeding and i called my doctor again today to see if this is normal ..they said the bleeding is but the rest sounds like an unrelated stomach virus. ???? What kind of crazy coincidence is that? No one else in my family has it-not my two young kids and I've never heard of a stomach virus lasting 6 days! I am now reading about this online and getting scared something serious is wrong with my colon so im just writing to see if anyone else has experienced this kind of pain with a miscarriage??? Thank you so much.

Weird Miscarriage Symptoms please help
So sorry. Not sure what those symptoms would be, but I would go to the er if you are still experiences symptoms. They will be able to figure out what is going on. Doesn't seem related to the mc. Good luck

Re: Weird Miscarriage Symptoms please help
This might be a dumb question, but was it absolutely confirmed that there was a gestational sac in the uterus at one point?
The reason I asked was because I walked around for 2 weeks with an ectopic and was originally told it was an early miscarriage because they thought there was a small gestational sac on the ultrasound...which we now know was part of the uterine lining...
I had bad rectal pain as well as side pain. I'm sure your doc would have picked up on it because usually there is terrible pain on one side...but my incident really shook me up. I started with side pain and it moved to the center of my belly...stabbing pains and diarrhea on and off..it was awful.
I hope you feel better soon and don't hesitate EVER to go and demand another ultrasound just to be sure! Do you know your current beta?

yes, i was going to write pretty much the same thing. when i had my ectopic, i was also told i was having a miscarriage for weeks and they were totally wrong. the thing that finally sent me to the hospital was i had serious "gas like" pains in my stomach.

Weird Miscarriage Symptoms please help
Really? I had an ectopic two years ago and was also told ot was probably a miscarriage because i was bleeing and levels were goong down. I remember they keep doing Sonos but couldn't see anything.. By time they were able to see it on the sono, it was so big that they removed a Fallopian tube. I got pregnant with my daughter two months later and all was well. This time, they did 3 Sonos, the first one they said they saw a sac and the second one it showed the sac falling apart and the third one is showed nothing there. When I googled this I did read that rectal pain/pressure was a sign of ectopic pregnancy and it made me nervous but I figured if they said they saw a sac in uterus ..it can't be?! The pain is subsiding a little tonight compare to the weekend but I'm not sure what to do. Isn't demanding a Sono rude? They keep brushing me off like its nothing to worry about when i call and ectopic was never mentioned. Should I just go to the ER? Another doctor for second opinion? Ugh thanks ladies

I don't know my current beta. They didn't do anymore blood tests after the Sono that showed the sac falling apart. I had already been bleeding/spotting a few days before that..

i'm not trying to scare you but my doctor kept brushing me off too and b/c of it, i was rushed to the operating room, could've died and lost a tube. sorry to be dramatic but i think it's completely worth being a little pushy and demanding another sono if you are having pain at all. if you think there's even a slight chance you are being misdiagnosed then yes, i would call a new OB tomorrow or go to the ER. i switched OB's when it was happening to me and it was the 2nd OB that found the ectopic and sent me straight to the ER.
i hope none of this is the case for you but it still doesn't hurt to look into it further.

Good luck to you...I'm hoping it's not another ectopic for you..I would think that since you've had one already, the doctor would be pretty vigilant about assuring that its not. But you would want to be safe, ESPECIALLY since having had one in the past!
and with my ectopic i spotted and bled on and off the whole time. Mine was hard to pick up...I actually miscarried in the tube...so I never ruptured but I had blood from the tube backing into my abdomen causing all the pain. And I did lose the tube because of the bad shape it was in.
Please update us. I bet you're fine but yes, I learned the hard way that saying "UM I THINK I NEED ANOTHER ULTRASOUND" was the best thing i ever did.

Sorry I just realized you wrote that they saw a sac the first sono you had! That's good!! (the one positive thing to take from all this is that you had a confirmed uterine pregnancy).
I hope you are feeling better today and just had a nasty virus that you're getting over...sending hugs to you

Weird Miscarriage Symptoms please help
Thank you! I am at the doctor now waking for a Sono. I tried calling a new place but they refused to see me since I started this pregnancy elsewhere. I called my doc again and instead of asking " are these symptoms normal", I asked for a Sono. I think they are doing it just to shut me up at this point but whatever it takes! Thanks

I was looking for your update! Glad you're getting a sono! I'm sure you're fine but better safe than sorry!!
Don't ever worry about "bothering" the doctor. That is their JOB. You are paying them. I felt the same way as you and hated calling and telling them yet again how I was in pain, but with me it was something life threatening and now I will never hesitate to call!!
Please update when you can!!

Weird Miscarriage Symptoms please help
Hi!! You are so right, i was embarrassed and everything but its my body and my reproductive health! Thank you for reminding me! So the Sono showed that I had an ovarian cyst that burst right by my rectum! Stomach virus, my a*s! Ha ha it explains at the pain BUT he also took a bloodtest on the off chance that the sack they saw in the uterus was a "pseudo" sac and this is another ectopic. This was the partner of my usual doctor, I am unsure why my regular doctor didn't do this last week or tell me about "pseudo" sacks and I'm scared of losing my remaining Fallopian tube. However, the doctor didn't think it was the case, he said it didn't look like a typical pseudo sack and the cyst explained the symptoms. He gave me Meds and now we wait and see. I think blood work will be back tomorrow.
In meantime, I am thinking of changin doctors. Anyone have any recommendations? I live in Wading River

Weird Miscarriage Symptoms please help
Thank you, yes he was which is funny because he is the older of the two doctors and he just joined the practice. The other doctor everyone loves so much, including myself, and no one ever wants to see him!! If I stay in this practice I will be seeing him from now on! Thank you!
