Does anyone's DC have Asperger's Syndrome?
Who made the diagnosis? I am trying to find someone that specializes in diagnosing girls.
We went to the Cody Center about 1 1/2 years ago, and they did not feel that she fit the diagnosis. But in my heart, I am 99% sure that she does.

I was reading up on it the other night and DS displays a lot of the symptoms.
But there are many he does not either.

I called AHA today. They are a Long Island Support Group for parents of children that have high functioning Autism and Asperger's.
They suggested I call Aspire in Melville. They do the evals, but do not take insurance. It will be about $2000. I am going to do it.
How old is your DS?

Does anyone's DC have Asperger's Syndrome?
I am almost positive DD has Asperger's as well. She has all the symptoms. I was waiting to get her diagnosed again until she was 7 because that was around the age I heard they diagnose for that.
Let me know how Aspire is. Maybe I'll do it too.

My son was just diagnosed with this. I took him to a neurologist to be evaluated for ADHD and the doctor diagnosed this as well. He did say alot of times it goes hand in hand.
To be honest I don't know anything about it, I still have alot of research to do.
I took him to Dr. Trepel in Mineola (he also has offices in Bethpage and Commack) for the evaluation. He was wonderful and explained everything in laungauge I can understand.

Some of my families have had a lot of success at LIJ. They felt the eval was very comprehensive and gave them a lot of help and support.
