Organic eating
We have been slowly converting over to organic eating. Now that we have a completely empty frige and freezer, I thought this was a great chance to up it.
I'm going to a shower today equidistant from Whole Foods and Fairway - which is better for this?
What are your must buy organic foods? What are you favorites?

Re: Organic eating
While I love Fairway, I am definitely a Whole Foods girl. My family prefers ther food choices just because that is what they like, not because Fairway's stuff isn't good. We buy a lot of Whole Food's store brand items (oatmeal, chips, soups etc) and prepared foods ( my kids can't get enough of their wings and Montreal steak) and just like them better.
Either way I don't think you can go wrong. Both stores have lots of organic choices.

Re: Organic eating
My must buy organic foods are the dirty dozen fruits and vegetables as well as any animal product (beef, chicken, dairy, eggs, etc.) I also do not cook with any vegetable or canola cooking oil since they contain gmos. Any product that contains corn, soybean or canola based ingredients must also be organic for the same gmo reason.

Organic eating
I love trader joe's and whole foods, as well as stop and shop's nature's promise brand. We buy all fruits/veggies organic, milk, yogurt, eggs, cheese. Meat is not always organic but it is always hormone/antibiotic free. DS is 18 months and most of his snacks are organic- we like Earth's Best & Annie's. I would say our household is about 75% organic. DS gets regular cheerios, I will sometimes buy regular gerber toddler products if I can't find the organic versions at Stop & Shop, I am not SUPER strict. But I do as much as I can.

Re: Organic eating
I love both places, but my Fairway has an even wider selection / better prices. I am crazy/ paranoid about food, so I try to be as close to 100% organic as possible. However, there are a bunch of food that I ALWAYS buy organic.
1. Dirty dozen veggies/ fruits 2. Eggs 3. Dairy 4. Any soy product ( usually tofu/ soy milk) 5. Cereal ( don't want GMOs) 6. Any frozen meal ( to avoid GMOs) I love Amy's Organics 7. Any corn product ( for the same reason as the last two)

Re: Organic eating
I'd suggest getting whatever you can at Fairway and Trader Joes. They are cheaper than Whole foods. Then whatever you can't find at TJ's and fairway, get at Whole Foods or Wild by Nature.

Organic eating
We get all our organic products from Trader Joe's. They have the best prices, I love Whole Foods but they're very expensive. Even Fairways prices to me don't seem that great
