Any Girls Delivering at NYU?
Does anyone know where they will deliver now that it is still closed? Does anyone know when the hospital will be back up and running?

Re: Any Girls Delivering at NYU?
I think they are going to a few different places. I have friends who work there and will ask if they know if they have estimates for up and running. I guess the real bummer is your doctor can't follow you if they don't have privileges at the other hospital. Do you have a Dr. at NYU or just general practice?

Most doctors only have privileges at one hospital. When I talked to my Dr. she said she was not allowed to deliver her patients who delivered during the storm because the other hospitals could not cover her for insurance reasons. . so her patients had to go to doctors from the hospital they delivered at. I don't know if NYU will make arrangements if they need to do something long term but I know in the short term, most doctors and nurses can't.

I can't imagine that the hospital won't be up and running again in 3 months. Did you ask your dr? I'm sure they have more information than what's posted on NYU's site.

I agree, at least that part of the hospital will be up and running, I think there are parts that won't. My sister works there and her department was destroyed and I don't know how soon they will be back.

Re: Any Girls Delivering at NYU?
I was to deliver at NYU (my due date is today actually, but apparently it's not yet my time). My practice is in SoHo, and they are currently diverting deliveries to Mt Sinai...and today I heard this may change to NY Downtown. They told me today that NYU sustained significant enough damage that involves medical waste - issues that will require major clean up protocols - and therefore they don't anticipate being able to deliver there again before January.
I was calm until today, but between the anxiety of now passing my due date and also now not knowing my delivery location due to Mt Sinai experiencing crowding,, I am starting to lose it. I live in Bayside and am now thinking of just seeing if it's at all possible to deliver at North Shore and avoid all this craziness entirely.

Right now they are delivering at Mt. Sinai. And your doctor will be able to follow you there.
I was there today visiting a new baby and was talking to some of the hospital employees about it. They even have NYU nurses working along side with the Sinai nurses.
