Definitely wood. I had carpet installed less than a year ago (stairs and family room) and it's already looking worn from all the traffic. It was a good quality carpet too.

Definitely wood. I have carpeting and I can't stand it, especially with pets and a child. It gets so dirty. I am always vacuuming and using our shampooer.
I desperately want to rip it out but not sure what the condition is of the floors underneath and we are not ready yet to renovate our living room and the rest of the house that has carpeting.
